Javier’s performance was one for the ages. He personified this program. You didn’t feel like he was in a competition with how easy he was jumping and flying round the ice, with that charming swagger so suited for the character that he was playing. I can and have watched this skate of his over and over again.

1:06:07 Isn't it funny that the commentators talk about he "uncharacteristic" failed landings but none of them mentions the huge water puddles on the ice? Surely difficult to take off and land jumps when the ice is basically liquid water. 🙄

That used to happen at the World Professionals every year for 15+ years. Its a matter of balancing the temperature in the building taking the number of spectators into account. Even if they had cleaned it up, it would just pool again if the techs didn't deal with the temperature. You would think the ISU/USFSA would have gathered the right techs that could deal with that!
