2016 Toyota Sienna | CarGurus Test Drive Review

After a major mid-cycle refresh in 2015, the Sienna has been upgraded with regard to interior materials and layout, making it much more tech focused. A similar level of improvement was seen in the chassis and suspension, resulting in an upgraded ride without fully losing the boaty quality that most minivans suffer.
Every Sienna comes with the same powertrain: a 3.5-liter V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. While that’s good news for those opting for lower trims, those who pay more than one and a half times the price of the base MSRP for a top-tier trim might get a little salty about getting the same engine and transmission.
Regardless, you’ll enjoy a stout 266 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque that are more than enough to motivate this 4,500+-pound behemoth. More impressive, the 6-speed automatic delivers 18 mpg city/25 highway for a combined EPA-estimated 21 mpg for FWD versions. AWD drops those numbers to 16/23 with a combined rating of 19, which I was easily able to achieve. Read more on CarGurus: cargur.us/9HdP5

I'll be honest, I wasn't all that excited to review a minivan when I first got the assignment. But it really won me over! Of course, for $50K I better be impressed!

$50K! My first Sienna a 2010 was $22k new. A dealer special. I'm shocked at how prices have gone through the roof. is my opinion the 2nd generation Sienna was the best Sienna ever made. After 2011 & Fukushima the third generation models went downhill everything was plastic inside. Toyota went into survival mode and I don't blame them. however I might be in the market for a new Sienna and this generation model looks pretty good.

Does the telescoping wheel come out towards the driver further than it did when the Sienna first had this option in 2008? In 2008 the wheel was far and farther away. Does the steering wheel come closer on this new model so that one doesn't have to either drive with their knees and ankles in pain, or driving with your elbows locked? Thanks!

It’s now 2024, should I consider purchasing a 2016 Sienna with say 95,000 miles as a daily driver?? Are they a well built van? Anyone

i still prefer the looks of the sedona, odyssey, quest, and pacifica over this.
