Excellent video. So much better than the total nonsense from people upset at losing the 6 cylinder engine of the old Cayman. I am about to replace mine with this version and your review only confirms what a good choice that is. Thanks again for a great review.

Thank you so much. I have been looking for a thorough review on the base model. I am a woman and could care less about too much power for daily driving to haul myself and a friend around. I am glad to hear it's comfortable. No one, however, really talked about inside wind noise. Weird.

Awesome review, it was good to see someone point out the interior lights, still there are some points I am still not sure on because each iteration of the vehicle something changes and one other video I saw was that the GTS steering wheel is rather noisy when pushing any of the buttons on it - the standard multifunction steering wheel was really silent..... is that still the case or did you find that in your car during this review? So you think you could get an chance to borrow or do a review on a 2021/22 Porsche Cayman 718 ????? I would love to see that - I have read on the Porsche web site that the seats are leather as standard now and that the interior lights are now spot lighting as well as int3erior lighting and that these lights are LED? I noticed some options had been installed on this car for this review such as the chrono sport and the stainless door guards, the matched colour headlight cleaners .......as I say do you reckon you can do a newer version of the cayman please?

I agree with many, that the new engine sounds just fine to me. Personally IMHO, turbos are great as the torque and power are early on, making the car feel much more aggressive and enjoyable on public roads. The interior is top notch, especially with those secret compartments and 2 trunks which really sold me on the vehicle. I test drove the Nissan 370z, and with due respect, even for the price point the interior was horrible :(. cheap plastic all around, and very uncomfortable. This looks like it is worth the money.

Cool review! trying to option out a 718 cayman S but it's so hard not making the car too expensive. Do I need the Sport Chrono and PASM? will I be ok with the manual seats? maybe I should just walk everywhere for a month so that I can just buy all the options that I want haha

Probably a great car overall, but it sounds terrible and a 2 litre boxer for that kind of money is just not worth it. I would go for a used 981 instead.

For the price of a new 718 Cayman, you can buy a used 981 Cayman AND a brand new 2017 Subaru WRX. Flat 6 + flat 4 for the price of a flat 4.
