I put the carrier bearing on after its in the car. It slides on with little effort

If the end isn't all buggered up already they make a special punch for roll pins called a roll pin punch and it has a small nipple on the end of the flat punch face that helps drive them out better. Also use lots of penetrating oil and maybe try spinning it around and working it out the other way. If all else fails you'll have to drill it. Usually you can drill a small hole through it then punch it out.

Any issues running the bolt rather than the roll pin.

I've since sold this rzr but I put some hrs on the machine with that bolt and no issues
