In every video Steve uploads, I always look forward to moments like 5:20 when we taps the spoon on the cup and it gives off a melody sort of sound. Little editing like that makes me appreciate these videos.

That wee bar you ate is exactly what we can get in stores, doesn't look to have been changed for the MRE at all. I'm surprised they don't put the Whittakers peanut slab in there instead. It's a classic! Keep up the good work dude!

Yeah, this is relaxing talk......opening, studying and enjoying preserved food packets from around the world......such a serene attitude towards food packets. There is a weird enjoyment in subsisting, for a time, on shelf-stable MRE packs. Watching someone else enjoying this type of thing helps it seem like a legit hobby.

I'm disappointed that a New Zealand MRE didn't have Chocolate Fish or Pinky Bar, Hokey Pokey flavoured desert, or even a Cookie Time cookie in it. I don't know if they make powdered L&P but that should be the drink. Glad to see the chocolate is Whittakers, though.

Hokey Pokey Ice Cream is vanilla ice cream with small chunks of crunchy honeycomb toffee in it. Hokey Pokey was what Ice Cream was commonly called back in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

NZ defence get some great rations. I've had a few and they have all been mouth-watering and delicious. The stuff they had in the 90's was even better(although canned). I remember eating a lamb and pea stew back then and it was the best thing I had tasted in my life.

Custard is its own thing, it would be wrong to lump it in with a "pudding" or "dessert". Custard is the dream for sure... would be interesting to try the MRE and compare it to fresh made custard which is possibly something you can't do since you're unfamiliar with custard? Oh and Whittakers is one of our best chocolates in NZ.
