Enjoying a MINI is not about acceleration for me.......its agility and old school driving with manual transmission. real fast cornering, brutal brake power........

For the past 2 years I was driving my father's 2011 mitsubishi asx 1.8 turbo diesel with selectable 4WD. It's a 150hp and 300Nm engine, quite powerful considering the 1500kg of weight. Comfortable car, all modern features like auto start and stop, hill assist, feather soft steering, smooth suspension and an almost toy car soft clutch and brakes. 1 month ago I bought a 2003 cooper s and maaaaan what a difference! You feel every bump, the corners are like you are on tracks, excellent precision even for such an old car. And quite a difference on steering, shifter and pedals! (I may need a new clutch thought). Also it is lighter so the 160hp engine really makes a difference, only 10hp more than the asx but you feel it! Especially on low revs since its supercharged! To drive long distances I prefer the ASX, it consumes MUCH less diesel (which is also cheaper) that the petrol mini (6,5l diesel/100km in comparison to 10l petrol/100km of the mini) but for daily? 100% the Mini! Too bad we don't have a track here in Malta to really enjoy the grip of the car 100%

+TheAudichiller Auf Grund der Tatsache, dass ich mir nicht sicher war wie gut das System funktionieren wird habe ich es gar nicht bestellt;) Kann also keine fundierte Aussage dazu machen. Der JCW macht bei mir ja nicht ganz so viele km, daher war mir dieses Extra nicht so wichtig.

+TheAudichiller ich habs in meinem Cooper S. Unterschiede gibt es schon. Wenn man zb. gegen eine gut strahlende Sonne fährt, dann geht es nicht mehr. Er bremst immer wieder etwas stärker ab und verliert dann, den Abstand zum Vordermann und beschleunigt dann wieder etwas flotter. Aber das ist eher, wenn eine Auto vor dem Auto wo man gerade nach fährt abbiegt und dieses halt bremsen muss. Sonst bin ich zufrieden.

Also der Mini gefällt mir sehr sehr gut. Von ihnen find ich ihn richtig schön. Es ist einfach ein Spaßauto. Die Töne im Innenraum vom Navi usw. die Symbole mit den zb. Raketen und Gokarts, wenn man in Sport umschaltet usw.. Ich mag ihn wirklich sehr.

Kannst du mal den neuen Audi Q7 testen? Das wäre schön.

+skr54 ESP ist im "Sport" bzw. "Traction" Modus, bedeutet es ist nicht komplett abgeschaltet aber erlaubt mehr Schlupf bzw. Eindrehwinkel.

The auto is faster. Superchips will push it another 50bhp easily...

to activate LC you need to have TC off anyway

I'm seriously confused. What does Launch Control and an automatic transmission have to do with each other? I watched the video twice because I thought I missed something. Nothing happened. What is your video actually about??

Also rein von der Zeit gemäß Video sehe ich bei Dir die 0-200 eher in 22-23sek., statt wie im Video angegeben mit 20,8! 🤫 Zudem meine ich, dass die Verbesserung der Zeit im Vergleich zum ersten Video (ohne Pro Exhaust) eher daran liegt, dass der Mini nun eingefahren ist und nicht an der Pro Version. Oder hattest Du auch die DownPipe machen lassen...🤔!? Glaub nicht, oder? Gibt einige Beiträge in Foren, in denen berichtet wird, dass der Mini jcw am Anfang nicht die volle Leistung abgibt. Außerdem muss ich feststellen, dass mein Jcw Manual Stock eine ganze Ecke besser geht als Dein Automat, also insbesondere ab 200 😬

This car looks like so much fun! It's too bad Mini Cooper has such a poor reputation for reliability in the US.

+Steve W So sick of hearing this! I've owned a 2008 MINI Cooper S for a few years now. I drive it EVERYDAY, half the time in heavy traffic, and have had ZERO problems. Not even a check engine light. It's also tuned to ~220hp/ 260 ft/lbs and has 112,000 miles. Clutch is still ORIGINAL from new and it shifts like butter. Still hits 60 mph in the high 5's and will hit 130 mph WAY too easily. They are built very well. My motto: Beat it and Feed it (synthetic oil every 5k, religious maintenance etc...)

+di foo!! cannot present the data on one individual example ... if YOU didn't have any problems, others still might have had some.

I count 16 seconds from 100 to 200 kmh, I don't understand how you guys timed 0-200 in 20,8 seconds. It's more like 22 seconds.

You know it's pretty interesting you're 0 to 60 time is about the same as my car stock however once you hit about 100 mph your car is slow compared to mine.

the mini is really impressive tho in 3rd and 4 gear crusing, its boost stays well and if your at like 40 mph in 3rd it pulls really good

Snorts and gurgles like my coffee machine.

derCARexperte TOP 10 AUTOS wurde nur die JCW Pro Auspuffanlage von Akrapovic angebaut...der Rest sollte original sein.Meiner fährt Driftbox nämlich auch etwas über 20sek 0 200...ist trotzdem noch zu langsam :D
