There are two batteries in a hybrid automobile. A 12V accessory battery, and a standalone hybrid battery. Accessories and internal combustion engine (ICE), use the 12V battery. Think of a non-hybrid vehicle, and its electric and electronic systems. A hybrid car has those, but the hybrid system is totally independent from the smaller 12V battery, and doesn't recharge it. The hybrid battery is approximately 245V, and is used exclusively for the electric motors, nothing else. The presenter of this video was wrong to state otherwise.

+Rubuntu tux Camry wheelbase 109.3 Toyota Avalon wheelbase 111.00 Lexus ES wheelbase 111.00 While they are all on the same "K" platform the Avalon and the ES share the exact same version of it. The Avalon is the cheaper version of the Lexus ES, not the Camry.

Daniel B. Ingle check this link pls en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Aurion_(XV40) probably you live in north America in other part of the world toyota Aurion also branded as camery as the owner of one i can tell you it is a same as ES every engine part is same as Es Wheel base is same and its also same with avalon also Camry share same Chasis with all of them the only gearbox and engines are different in some cases but for example Aurion ( also called camry in many countries ) has the same gearbox engine and wheelbase as es

+Rubuntu tux it does not have the same wheelbase as the current generation ES, the last generation yes. The current ES is a dressed up Toyota Avalon not a Toyota Camry. In the review he mentions if it's worth it to get the ES over the Camry when he should have said the Avalon because that is the most direct comparison. You wouldn't test drive an ES then go buy a Camry. You would compare it to the Avalon. He should have said Avalon not Camry. If you have ever driven the current Avalon and ES and if you lived in and knew more about the North American Market you would understand.

That's about what I get. 32 33 in winter w warm up and the gasoline engine running more than usual. The electronic drive doesn't like very cold weather. In summer I can do better, even 39 40, but you've got to WORK for it. Real year round average mpg is probably mor like 34 36.
