Torque management. ECU retards ignition timing during the shift to reduce driveline shock and keep the trans (and everything behind it) alive. Pretty much everything these days does it, and GM at least has done it since the 4L60E first happened.

4.9.thats slow. I wonder if it's because it's the CORE model. It says it's in track mode. I find that strange as I didn't think the core had track mode seeing it doesn't have adaptive suspension, which pretty sure also means it doesn't have the steering either. So does track mode in the core just mean the transmission is set to track? There is nothing else that changes in track right? Except for maybe the open exhaust. You think the 4.9 SEC is due to not having adaptive suspension or is it just not being able to drive it right? (jokes on the driving) I ask because Chrysler say it does 4.5 and fastest I've got mine is 4.7. But that's with the flagship model where track mode releases full torque. So either yours doesn't or it comes down to the suspension and the stiff steering that the flagship has. However, saying that, you've only got 6000kms on it

@@privateperson299 Adaptive suspension isn't really necessary if you have a good setup or aftermarket coilovers. It also lowers the cost to purchase and repair if those parts break. Just the active exhaust on my cheapo i30 Fastback N costs 1800€ + labor cost to fix i don't even want to know what the entire front suspension cost Hyundai to replace on mine which they did this year. Just the repair costs under warranty alone were almost 10k € on my car. Imagine if i had to pay that ourt of my own pocket.

@@Enforcer_WJDE I hear you on that but I've had two other SRTs with pedders coilovers and it just didn't compare to how much nicer it is being able to change my suspension to multiple settings with the push of the button. Also with adaptive suspension comes adaptive steering and that goes from having some give, to being super tight in track mode that you go around a corner and let go and the wheel basically goes back to centre. It's really tight with absolute awesome feedback. Which is why I paid the extra for the flagship hyperblack over the last brand new core in Australia. Just my experience though. My 09 was as modded as could be. The current model stock with a few basic mods is by far my favourite

Nothing slow about this. Mine feels like the front is lifting when I'm in track and pushing the pedal down. I think being the core with lack of adaptive suspension must make this slower than non core. Because his time isn't as good as it can be. You'd never think this was heavy driving it. I've had all three generations and this feels smaller and lighter.

Only shuts down 4 cylinders under specific conditions, I wouldn't call specific conditions normal driving conditions. With the 2012 and up V8 models they broadened the conditions so it would kick in more often. It'll kick in under low load, very low or no acceleration situations.

Cheapest version is the PACER. It's funny actually as the PACER made 50 limited editions that are worse than the core but still there is 50 of them in Australia. The same year there was only 200 srt flagships made for 16 countries making them rarer and they come fully optioned. You can't get options on the SRT Flagship as they just have every option you could have.
