Folks, it is refreshing to know we can GET a car for about 9-10 grand without power stuff. I like not replacing power window motors and switches. Once you adjust your mirrors, they are usually good where they are. If you are crying over lack of power locks they are $100 optional feature when you add a aftermarket alarm. Same with cruise, aftermarket is like $75. What matters: good seats, good handling, space, outward vision, quality, and long term reliability.

Aftermarket cruise is NOT $75. More like $300 for self install and you have to drill a bit into your steering wheel to put the knob. Plus it doesnt necesarially work as well as stock since it's kinda a hack. It tells the car to maintain speed but doesnt necesarially use the same fuel efficient methadology of a stock system. Really cruise control isn't a deal breaker. Totally livable feature, and power locks are really inexpensive to install especially with the kind of locks this car has.

Cruise is hardly a deal breaker. I have not used cruise once on my 15 XB. You can buy a stick steering wheel new with cruise that is plug and play on many late model/new cars. They are pretty much all wired for it since higher end models are equipped. All the Kias Rio, Soul, Forte.. just go to eBay and its $100. Pop off your stick base model wheel and put the cruise one on.

I'm sure many will make fun of the manual windows but remember this, those manual windows are far more robust/reliable than power windows and will probably never need to be repaired in the cars life time. My first two cars had manual windows and i thought it was junk until i had a car with power windows. $250 for the part alone plus the mechanics labor and I am now seeing the allure of manual windows especially in an economy car since that type of cars demographic will probably be lower income young people or family types.

+biggboysouth I'm honestly fine with manual windows (as I remember growing up using those in cars), but seriously, manual side mirrors and manual locks? Like, really in a 2016 car? The least they can do is add those in for maybe $250 bump in base MSRP.

I am a college student who drives around 200-300 miles every week. I bought this car in a hurry. It's pretty affordable (11k-12k) I bought a very light blue base model. I liked the fact it was Tiny (easy to park) but still had 4 doors. I was disappointed about the manual window, not manual auto unlock (if you have the app on your phone, you can unlock drivers side from the app) the side mirrors were also manual. However it does have a rear view camera which I like a lot, I like the car play however I have an iPhone and you can only see the apple map on the screen. Apple map is not that reliable and I wish I could use google map instead. I took a road trip from austin to San Francisco with this. The Gallon only holds about 9 gallons and it could be troublesome in some lonely highways. We had to constantly make sure we had it full and we got gas even if the tank had more than half at some places to be safe. If you stop at a stop sign it takes a bit time to get speed. Same thing if you are going up hill (just be on the right lane so people can go around you) Overall for a college student or a single driver living in a city it's not bad. Again, my car is the base model, you can get upgraded ones for a grand or 2 extra I believe.

Not complaining, stating what I dislike. Obviously these were not too big of an issue for me as I bought it. I stated what I liked, disliked and how much I paid so it might benefit someone on the market. A review is not a complain and you surely do not have to complain about what other thinks or not.

Dan, seems like you replied to me and it was marked spam for some reason. AGAIN, I did not complain. Stated good and the bad for this and obviously the goods weighed much more than the bad so I bought it. I like my car but it's not perfect and I have no shame in admitting it. If you are happy with yours great!! No need to bash other people for saying the things they enjoyed less.

Spark base is the oddest duck in the world. Had one before I got T boned by an 18 wheeler (luckily this car is much safer than it looks). Though all the doors are ‘manual’, the front driver door is automatic. You can open it ONLY through the Chevy app...or if you buy a Chevy key fob and program it. Rest of the doors are manual. Same for the trunk door. It’s automatic...but you can’t open it automatically. Car has just 2 speakers...yes just 2. Which is fine, but the built in speakers are inadequate and will burn out quickly since you need to put it loud. But you get CarPlay which is a huge safety feature imo. Nothing more dangerous than a mounted smartphone GPS that can become a distraction if a pothole or something bounces it off the dash. Still recommend it if you can get it for 10k or so. Amazing deal for a brand new car. Plus the new model gives you 4 speakers lol

I just bought one, total base model like in the video. the car so so narrow you can reach the passenger side window handles while driving. The gears in the manual are so close you can skip 4th in the city without it bogging. and manual windows and door locks is nice less stuff to replace after continual usage (window motors, door actuators/switches)

But this is an economy car. I personally wish they still offered the option to not have the once was an option of PW. When the motors go out or you need to replace switches it can be a PITA. Plus they cost more. Back as early as 2002 I could buy a Honda Accord DX with no PW, PL, or AC for 12 grand, New. Great nice car for the price or lesser car loaded with stuff I do not need. My preference. But all the same, why not get a simple cheap car as simple and cheap as you want?

Auto headlights, Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, and a rearview camera are standard but you'll still have to crank the windows and unlock the car with an actual key? People who are tech focused probably won't overlook basic power features that should be standard on all trims. Such a glaring flaw for a vehicle that aims to be tech focused IMO, but it looks nice! Anything was better than that Halo-esque golf cart with 3 ft headlights they used to sell.

JJ JJ You may see quite a few SXT and Limited models in their fleets. I doubt any top trim R/T or Citadel models though. Fact is, almost every make and model of newer cars can be rented in an airport fleet rental lot. I've seen Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, etc in rental lots. Your point is....?
