Min Yoongi. I thank God every single day, even if unconsciously, that I have you and you have found a way into my story. I believe that most, if not all ARMY can understand that you sincerely are one of the most influential artists to ever be; especially for this generation. Your voice can best be described to me as a dream. There is a softness, and a comfort that your voice brings me every time that I hear it. When you rap, you can bring so much aggression, power, and strength to your lines, but it doesn’t compromise the ease in which your voice brings to the audience. There are days when I only want to be in my head with you, and hearing your voice calms me. I feel like I am on a cloud and in an area where I can truly be myself. It is almost as if you are incapable of pouring anything other than honestly and your raw interpretations of your experiences into your raps. It’s not just that you’ve studied rap and you understand it, but you embody it. Your tone just has a natural mellowness that makes the world around me tranquil and still, even if just for a second. You spark this melancholy feeling; this bittersweet ache in my heart when I have the pleasure of hearing your voice. Your dancing, similarly, can only be described as pure. When I watch you dance, I am literally watching yourself give into the music, and give away to the environment around you. There is a vulnerability, and a longing when I watch you dance across the stage. BTS has a range of choreographies; and no matter what choreography it is, you come alive and really feed into the emotions of each one. I feel as if you open up more when you dance and you can express yourself in a way that is different from other outlets that you have. I always get so emotional, even if the choreography is positive because you are so humanistic and real when you dance. This may sound confusing, but it is such a privilege to see you dance with so much confidence and to trust your body to the sound. You never look more like yourself than when you’re doing what you’re meant to do, and you were put on this Earth to change the world with the power of your voice, dance, and connection to those who are entertained by you each and every day. You are an absolute gift sent to this world as one of the greatest reasons people believe in the art of music. We are beyond blessed to be born in this generation and get to have you in our lives as entertainer, and a role model. I don’t know what we did to deserve you, but you have heavily changed the nature of today’s society with your music. As much as I love your artistry, I love your personality all the same. As I mentioned before, you spoke to me so quickly but you didn’t have to say much at all. I can just tell how observant of a person you are by the way you take in and respond to your surroundings. You have a way with words and a way that you see the world differently that allows you to interpret situations unlike that of others. As I just noted, I think you are incredibly insightful, and even wise beyond your years. You are a very grounded person and always seem to be stable even in the rockiest of moments. There is such pureness in your soul and the way that you carry out your daily actions; and I wholeheartedly believe that this is why so many people gravitate towards you. As for your members, it’s clear to see that the seven of you have been friends, and now family for countless years. Anyone can see that there is a bond and a spiritual connection that the seven of you share that could not be broken for anyone of anything. BTS has gone through a lot together, but your members look to you and model off of how you struggle through your own personal battles. I know that your members would have completely forgotten who they are or lost their purpose without you. You are constantly creating and there is always an idea that you want to communicate through your mediums. This alone encourages your members to do the same, and helps them find what motivates them to make music. You are simply and naturally just a good person and I know that you believe in your members in a way that nobody else can. It takes a while to trust someone so completely on that level, but you show the world how easily it is to build a family if you just respect the people around you. Because you are such a loving person, you’ve found six people who love you as much as they possibly can. It’s astonishing how you mean something different to each of them, but as a whole they mutually understand your significance to BTS as a group and as a family. If you’ve done nothing else (which of course you have), you’ve completely transformed the mindset of six other boys who probably never thought they could make it this far. Sometimes, I don’t know if you’re aware just how much of BTS can exist with your leadership and compassion. They could not thrive or be themselves completely without you helping them become the best versions of themselves. I want to personally thank your parents and family for raising you. I know for a fact that they’ve opened up this pathway for you and are one of the biggest reasons, if not the biggest reason that you where you are today. They are your biggest supporters and know you better than anyone else. I know that they are the most proud of you for what you’ve accomplished and for who you are. ARMY knows that they mean a lot to you, and we wouldn’t have you to spread your life-changing messages across the world without them. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for helping you become successful; but most importantly, we thank them for keeping you safe and nurturing you. Yoongi, you couldn’t love ARMY any better than you do either. You’ve shown us a life that we never knew was possible. You’ve opened your whole world to your ARMY, and I know how hard it is to always be in the spotlight. It is almost as if you were put on this Earth to help millions of people believe in themselves. You have not only the platform to always communicate in us, but you have the drive as well. All that you’ve done has been to make us happy and leave us with memories that we are going to take with us for the rest of our lives. Offstage, you always make sure that ARMY is having fun and can forget all that ails them. When we are with you, we simply feel like life is going to be alright. Just your presence makes us feel like we’re going to be okay. You are a teacher, and lead us back onto a track of self-assurance when we stray. Looking at how headstrong you are has allowed for an entire shift of mentality for a generation of people. Though I don’t know you personally, I can just feel that I could be my honest and complete self around you because you make me feel like I am worth being loved for how I am. I don’t want a second to go by without you knowing that you’re a home for ARMY. You are like a security blanket or safety net that we go to when we feel like we have nobody else. You treat us better than we ever could ask you or imagine, and it has saved so many lives. ARMY can actually believe in themselves because of you and no matter what happens to them, they know that there is someone who loves them with all of their being. I can’t stress enough just how much you have changed the lives and the nature of society today because of your unconditional love and natural tendency to warm the hearts of those you come in contact. I hope that this birthday makes all of your dreams comes true and it is all that you’ve wanted it to be and more. You, more than anyone deserve a day to relax and to realize just how much you’ve done for over ten years for others. I hope you take this day to reflect on who you’ve become, but most importantly, I hope you are surrounded and filled with nothing other than the love of ARMY and others who love you. I hope that you get to do all that you’ve longed to and that every second is spent with happiness. We are so proud of you for all that you’ve overcome to this day. It is clear you’ve had so many hardships and have suffered while navigating the journey that you are on. You are so strong for making it through all you have and even stronger for learning from it. You teach others how to do the same every day because you have persevered through some extreme conditions. Thank you for sacrificing all that you have just for us and to make BTS possible in any way. To all of the music, entertainment, and content you’ve help produce for the world, we thank you in ways only our emotions can express. Thank you for overworking yourself when you never had to. Thank you for sacrificing your emotions, doubts, time, efforts, work, and parts of your own self to love us. I only hope you put your happiness and health before all else, because that’s what ARMY wants the most. No matter what needs to happen for you to feel this way, we will support you. I pray that you and your loved ones stay safe, and find happiness and worth in your future. Please don’t ever feel obligated to change because we love you exactly the way you are, and not one tiny thing could ever change that.
