So I'm just watching this bout again. Y'know, remember how it goes. Suddenly angry all over again. Especially at 2-3, oh, I'm sorry, 5-0 WTH?

Milenchev's puzzling calls all breaking Yakimenko's way certainly seem much less puzzling in light of the corruption allegations...

Can someone who understands sabre better than I do explain why 2:38 was awarded to Yakimenko? It looked like Homer's attack all the way to me. Was there blade contact beforehand that I missed? The ref says "attaque, touche, pointe" for Yakimenko but there's no way it's his right of way unless he picked up the blade. Right???

Is it because he retreated before launching the attack?

@@sydneysabrecentre I'm all ears :) I would understand it more if Homer stepped back and then was attacked. But he stepped back, then forward, then launched the attack.

At 2:37 there was blade contact, giving left priority. Even if there wasn't Homer retreated afterwards and Alexey followed through with the attack therefore attack touche point

@@themixc9996 Thank you, I think I see what you're talking about, I must've missed the blade contact on my first watch

Wow. Yakimenko fenced well, but Homer was robbed of quite a few touches there. Biased director.

The announcer is so annoying, and 6:36 is one of the worst calls in fencing history, how is that not a straight attack

I am also perplexed at this call. I can't really hear the ref over the crowd or the announcers, any idea what the call was? Was it parry-riposte? It is pretty clear in the replay that Yakimenko's hit is a counterattack but maybe the ref thought he got a parry?

Just watched through the video review ... He said attack no, counterattack arrives? WHERE THE HELL IS THE ATTACK THAT MISSED????????? That doesn't make any goddamn sense

Yakimenko would destroy homer with closed eyes. And please tell what do you think is cheating, in this match?

Yakimenko is a monster, and I wouldn't say he was cheating but the referee was clearly giving out points to Yakimenko that should have gone to Homer

Obvious biased reffing, stolen win from Homer
