2015 Toyota Sienna 3.5 V6 2GR-FE - Cooling System Service - Drain & Fill & Bleed

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In today's video we will be doing a drain and fill of the cooling system on this late model Toyota mini-van. There are special procedures to follow in order to bleed/purge all of the air out of the system once the draining and filling is completed. I will show you the step-by-step procedures on how to perform this maintenance item. This video is a drain and fill of the system only. It is not a full coolant flush of the system. If your vehicle has been regularly maintained at periodic intervals then there is no need to do a full flush of the system.
Toyota's recommended service interval is 5 Years/160000 Kilometers (100000 Miles) whichever comes first for the first service and 5 Years/80000 Kilometers (50000 Miles) thereafter. Again, it is for whichever comes first distance or time.

I like to use the tubing on the petcock to make less of a mess. Also, do you drain coolant from the engine block? There should be at least one if not two coolant drains on the engine block

@samdalia01 Yes, you can do that as well if you want. For me I just wash it down with water in the end. No, I don't touch the drain valves on the block as I don't want to take a risk breaking it if it's seized on there so I leave them well alone. If a vehicle is periodically maintained, then a coolant flush is not necessary. A drain and fill is more than enough.

Do you need to open bleeder valve? Is it necessary?

Yes. Otherwise the engine will overheat and the coolant will overflow and boil over.
