Well, This is something I probably won't be able to do on my meager retirement income but I savored every minute of it! It reminded me somewhat of a week long horse-back elk bow hunt I did with friends traveling 24 miles into the Wallowa mountain range of eastern Oregon about a decade ago. That was a low budget hunt guided by my friend's brother who lived there & owned the horses. I was invited along and will never forget those wonderful memories.

I freaking loved this. I did something similar when I was your age. I enjoyed the journey, to many shows are just a kill shot with no experience. Thanks for posting

Great for you, Just the fat that you got to go on that trip is a great plus, being a Taxidermist for over 20 years was a great experience for me and not all hunters have the opportunity that you had, I'm sure even though not any big game it was a fantastic trip. Hope you get to do another one and maybe get a different guide will help. Thank you for sharing.

Hunting is not just about the harvesting of an animal! Sometimes it just doesn't pan out! Enjoyed the video and especially liked the scene around the campfire as you roasted and ate the ptarmigan!

What do smelly ol socks taste like...lol... seen you guys cooking a few... just kidding; Fantastic trip I am sure.... The ONLY thing which bothers me is that WHEN heading out into the middle of no-where hunting..then you come across a SHT load of trash left but "some one" ....

@@Knotrockets A guide is required to hunt certain species. I've never felt the need for a guide myself so I've never had cause to blame any else for whether I brought home meat or not.
