    Very simple, easy to follow. Suggest removing fill bolt first because if it's stripped/rounded you won't have an empty transmission with no easy way to fill it back up!

    Hey @Kimhoeun, great simple video. I had a few questions. I just bought a 2015 rx 350 used and I don't know if he ever changed the transmission fluid or not. the car has 100,600 miles on it and I want to drain and fill the transmission fluid so that I can keep the car for a long time. Would you recommend that I drain and fill the fluid just like you did in your video given the miles? Or should I just leave it alone since I don't know if the fluid was ever changed.

    @@kimhoeunchhay4295 Well at least your reply to the question cleared up that what you are doing is NOT a complete transmission fluid flush and change which is a more complete change of the trans fluid and much more expensive as i understand it. I am just about to have my trans fluid changed and dont know whether to have the complete flush done or just what your video shows...the partial 3 qt replacement. Is your opinion that either way is adequate to protect the auto transmission? Thanks for a very easy to understand video.

    @@whocares0316 Hondas are the same. My Pilot holds like 9 quarts but you drain and can only remove like 3.5 at a time. Our first Pilot I never had it changed until like 90K miles so I did the procedure 4x in the same day after driving maybe 10 miles between each. This removed most if not close to all of the dirty fluid. A little wasteful but I am fine with that. With our 2nd Pilot I started doing this when the car was at 30k miles and just repeat the drain and refill once every 30k miles.

    Many of us who have 2010 - 2015 rx350, we could only got 2 qrts, how could you got 3 qrts? We repeat the process drain-refill about 2 qrts each time (15k miles interval after 1st drain -refill at 60k)

    Did you take out BOTH drain plugs? The first drain plug screws into the secondary drain plug. After removing the first, you then remove the second one for a complete drain.

    Same. Just bought a 2015 where it never got done and has 128k miles. Drove it for like 10 minutes and removed both plugs and only got actually 1.75 quarts while the fluid is warm. Not sure how he got 3 quarts out. Did not jack up the vehicle or remove the wheel as my garage floor is leveled and turning the wheel gave me access to fill plug. I guess I will keep doing this a few times at each or every other oil change.

    This method is wrong; it makes the assumption the fluid level is correct before dump out. The red tube is the transmission level check valve. Once the new fluid begins flowing into the red tube then down through the tube and out through the plug means correct fluid level added. Then replace the pan bolt. Do not overfill!.

  • @hondaguy6666

    @hondaguy6666

    True. But my daughter's 2015 RX350 has about 75k miles now and has never been changed. Dealer said lifetime fluid and no need so I would have to assume it was filled correctly at the factory and if it shows no leaks it must be still at the correct level so whatever I drain out I will put the same amount back in. And say I repeat at 150k miles (or whenever I do it again) if I repeat the procedure then the fluid level should always be correct. Assuming everything done when the fluid is at room temperature in my garage.

    The reason I recommend you to put 3 or 4 qrts. Oil life cycle in transmission pan no much as old year Lexus and Toyota. When you put 3 or 4 qrts in your transmission, so you have chance to flush some old fluid out from torque converter. Did you see your car old fluid so dirty? After fill up 4 qts, you let your car engine running in park and drain some fluid out and keep in level as your car needs. That all i can give you. Thank you so much for watching my video. Kim

    This video tutoring in not correct. You showed only half of the job and missed the most important - CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL!!! After filling the new ATF, it is very important to check the fluid level. You have to put 3.5 quarts of fluid in, then starting the engine and idle it until the ATF temperature rise to 40 - 45 C or 104-113F. For this purpose, Scangage tool is required. When the temperature rich 40 C and the fluid expand, you have to remove the drain plug and let access fluid to drain out. If you don't do this procedure, your ATF is over field or under field. It is good to try my friend, but you are confusing those people who want to learn and safe money but want to do it the right way. As a result, thousands of people who followed your video, now driving their vehicles with low or over field ATF level!!!
