2015 Land Rover Discovery HSE Luxury Review - Inside Lane

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The latest Land Rover Discovery is an astonishing machine blending 4x4 off road capability with highly specified luxury. This is the 2015 Land Rover Discovery HSE Luxury and it costs a princely £63,395 with our test cars optional extras. Those toys include everything you can imagine from digital TV and heated leather seats, to depth finding sonar. Incredible both on and off road, the question is can this Discovery justify its steep price?

You bought a 3-ton crude house-on-stilts for touring and motorway cruising? Wouldn't a BMW 520i be a million times better with its superior comfort, quietness, lower costs? You do what you want but I was just incredibly surprised by that statement of yours.

I've owned my Disco 4 for coming up to 4 years now and I love it. My wife was dubious but Disco Dave is now part of the family. We drove up the east coast of Australia (sydney to townsville) towing a 1.5t camper trailer and the car was in it's element, be it on some off road trails, the beach or the motorway. In terms of reliability, as LR is now owned by Tata, the issues and image of old are waining. The only small problem we had was with the front parking sensors that got a bit confused once. They are now fine though but the diagnostics took a while to work out what exactly the problem was. Servicing is pricier than most cars, but a small price to pay for the 'permagrin' feel!

Best car I ever owned. Infinitely capable, had it all over Europe. The confidence in knowing that, short=t of encountering a cliff or a lake, this car will get you there and back, without fuss and in limo-comfort, is very reassuring.

I sold mine earlier in the year and bought the new discovery sport. I miss my old disco 4. It had so much more character. That doesn't mean the new disco sport isn't a good car because it is. It just doesn't have the "je ne sais quoi(?)" I used to love without quite knowing it.

Nice review! At the moment, I'm driving a 1997 Discovery Tdi, series 1. But it's getting older and older with it's 250.000 miles. I really hope that my Disco will keep on working for a couple more miles, but then I may upgrade to a newer model.

Read the reviews. Like this old style model and an buying one which is still in great condition. Spoke with the dealer who sells only Land Rover vehicles - he said he has bought the latest model and doesn't like his vehicle as much as this older classic. I can see why because this is still a Land Rover and not some mix which is the same as some other Tech. vehicle.

+aabidam I have never read anything good about the Rover brand name reliability. this is based on several different publications that keep track of such data. The British simply don't know how to make reliable cars, just like their past. They are certainly easy on the eyes but such an expensive vehicle should have more than just looks.
