I was born there and walking up and down Nathan Road numerous times growing up there from 1949 to 1956, as a 13 to 19 years old boy. Usually took the upper deck bus number 2 whenever possible. Movie houses competed each other by having three story tall portraits of the beautiful movie stars, such as Jane Russell in the Outlaws. Marilyn Monroe's Seven Year Itch, Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman in the movie house named Broadway. Everybody is watching Television at home now. George Wu, ARCHITECT, A.I.A., NCARB 2018-9-13

Was in Gun Club Barracks , Austin Road from 1969 to 1972 , loved walking Nathan Road on days off . Great video , the way you name the streets certainly helps .

Where are the ' Communist shops ' . and Sikh guards outside banks , armed with shotguns ? Only joking . Much has changed obviously . I used to go to the London Cinema on Austin Road to watch Shaw Brothers films . Great memories , will be back one day .

+hongkongmap Thank you again. The links provided interesting information. Many retailers have multiple store locations along Nathan Road. It looked to me that at one point, while you were walking north, I thought I saw three Chow Tai Fook stores on one block and they have other locations on the other side of Nathan Road. Every location has a store greeter waiting to welcome you in. What a dull job THAT would be. Cheers from Vancouver!
