I would like to know what you charged to replace that starter. Total price for labor and starter.

Glad to see that you are still taking a hands on approach and doing repairs. A good technician like you has no trouble working on different makes of vehicles. I am enjoying the different content in addition to just Ford repairs.

These Honda 2.4L are excellent engines. Accord/CRV/Element.

My mom has a 2.4 2015 honda Accord. Starter failed, probably a year or two ago. It would randomly not start and start perfectly fine other times just like this one. The dealership mentioned something about there being a TSB on them. Common issue

Hondas starters have always been weak especially on this generation of accords

My wife's crv jas the 2.4 and everyone says you have to take off the intake to get the starter off. Nope not me I got it from the bottom and it was easy. Right on Rich you just have to look at it and think it through. 👍

I never knew starters are that hard to get too. Then again I don’t know much about working on vehicles & what I do know is from watching you.

It’s really cool seeing you walking like a Boss doing things in your new job. You walked like a Boss at the dealership, but now you are part of management. Really good stuff. Stay Blessed!

This video was brilliant! Thank you! I don't think I would have had the guts to fix it myself without this video, it's the most detailed one on KZread for doing this procedure without removing the exhaust. (I too have an AWD.) One thing I found is that I absolutely needed to use 1/2 inch extensions to break the two main bolts. I started off trying 3/8 extensions but they just couldn't apply enough torque to break the bolts. I was pushing really hard on my breaker bar and was convinced that the extensions were going to crack. I had either two or three chained together, I can't remember. Once I switched to 1/2 inch extensions the connection from the breaker bar was much more solid and I was able to break the bolts immediately. I was about to head out to Harbor Freight to buy an impact wrench but ended up not needing it.

Boy! Talk about timely. I just finished the same operation on my daughter's CRV about an hour ago.

I had to do this on my 2007 Honda Civic. This one appears to be a bit easier, but at least you had the decency to tell me it would be a pain in the butt for the home gamer. Thanks!

Honda looks pretty clean for being that old and a Illinois car. On a side note I’m done with my snap on battery ratchets another one just crapped out, always grab my Milwaukee most of the time.
