Really nice to hear a review of the 4C's characteristics from someone who *already* owns a raw, unadulterated car like the Viper, and appreciates it for what it is. This was great insight into how the 4C compares to something with similar compromises but a different character. It's frustrating to hear people try to compare it with more GT-oriented cars like the Cayman, simply because they exist in the same price bracket.

The 4C is massive fun. You can fit simple and cheap mods to calm the 'from factory' track biased handling if you want, but it'll still be a reliable, nimble and quick kart for the road and track. What more could anyone want?

Nice review. I have a 4C, drove my friend’s Gen 5 ACR and it’s scary. I also have a 987.1 cayman S that’s been tweaked for track use, it weighs 3100 lbs with driver and fluids, corner balanced with lots of negative camber, bucket seats, harness, oil mods and cooling, tuned to 330 hp, and my Alfa is still more fun to drive and makes my cayman feel like a luxury sports car. You can really feel the weight even if it’s just around 550 plus pound difference. I always believe that it’s fun to drive a slow car fast.

Thanks for this comparative review....just watching you drive both cars, the 4C definitely put more smiles on your face. (similarly, the same excitability with other testers who drive the 4C, including the grumpy guys)

I noticed this too. All smiles in the 4C. I'm sure I have some inbuilt bias as I love the 4C, but the Viper is a legend. That being said, the smiles sell the experience.

Thanks for this! I'm also in Virginia and I owned a S2000 (yellow '08), then a Viper (yellow '02), and am now considering buying a 4C. Not quite the same Viper as yours, but I sold mine because of some of what you mentioned here - it was too much for the street and that kept it from being as much fun as my S2000 had been. So now I want something fun like the S2000 but more exotic. You should do another video like this on which is more fun, the S2000 or the 4C.

I'm in the same boat minus the viper. I have a 405bhp s2k, and 23 ford tbucket custom. I started looking at the 4c to add to the fun car stable and have my first italian sports car thats also reliable on and off the track.

@@crossfirearcade8015 Try to drive one before you buy if you can. I bought a 4C Spider about a month after I posted my comment, but I returned it after 7 days (bought from Carvana). It just wasn't that much fun, IMO.

After owning two of each I can attest these two are polar opposites. 4c is pretty, handles like on rails, very good and easy to drive on track. 4c in some ways is more fun on back roads because it's not as handful as Viper. Viper on the other hand is more masculine and I prefer the look over 4c. It is brutally fast and demands a lot of respect. It is scary to drive it at the limit. In ways that's why it is more fun. Long story short, I ended up keeping the Viper because it fits my personality more.

Slower, lighter, fine tuned, cars are more fun because you can give them the full beans without ending up in jail or getting killed. That is why there is such an appeal to anything from a 130bhp 4 cylidner Mazda all the way up to a 340bhp 911 with the Elises and the 4Cs and the Caymans in between.

Upgraded custom forged rims. Check out the 4C forum and look up the rim group buy. I also have a video detailing the custom rims on my YT.

Put Ohlins strada corsa you will see the difference. Mine is tuned by Scara73. And it is mega. Original steering feeling was 4 in a scale till 10. Now i can tell you is 8.5 the evaluation. Trust me. Night and Day

After 7 secons of listening, these are noncomperable cars built for differnet purposes !!!! 4C : 895 Kg of dry weight, THE most economical supercar made for BACKROADS here in Europe !!! VIPER : weight 1530 Kg ( 635 Kg MORE ), and U have to be a BILIONAIRE driving it 🤣, Very good CAR thoug, specially at USA, Nurbugring, etc 🌟 !!! TK🇳🇴
