    Hey man, thank you for your videos. I watched 2. The first was to replace my thermostat which was very helpful but the work itself was a pain and then to refill and burp my car was helpful to finish the process of the thermostat change. I did my 2016 200. Thanks again for making these videos.

    Hey Joe. Thanks for your detailed instructions, they really helped. FYI, there is an air bleed cock on the radiator. It's at the top corner on the left (reservoir) side. There is one on my 2015 Chrysler 200 Limited 2.4L engine.

    The bleed screw for air bubbles should be to the left side of the radiator at the top it's pretty much the opposite corner from where you bled the fluid out :)

    Hey Joe. Is there an actual radiator cap that is directly on the radiator, or is the only access through the over flow reservoir?

  • @JoesCarSmartsNY

    @JoesCarSmartsNY

    2 жыл бұрын

    Only cap is on the reservoir. It serves the same function tho, which is to maintain correct pressure in the system.

    @@JoesCarSmartsNY thank you for answering my question. I have one more for you if you don't mind. I have a pin hole leak in my radiator, would it be okay to put stopleak in the reservoir? I was told your suppose to put it directly into the radiator only, but obviously, I'm not able to.

  • @JoesCarSmartsNY

    @JoesCarSmartsNY

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@nefariouskitten3 Stop leak is not a very reliable fix. It’s also possible that you will clog the cars heater core with the Stop leak. I’m not sure how you’d get the stop leak in correctly. The fluid in the reservoir doesn’t circulate quickly like the rest of the system so the stop leak would stay in the reservoir for a while. Best recommendation: swap the radiator.

    I notice the coolant color is red/pink I went to autozone today to fill my 2015 200 s they said to use an orange coolant. Not sure if I should just fill my car up with the orange one or be safe and get the red coolant.

    The best coolant option is straight from the Chrysler dealer. Other than that, find something that’s approved for Chrysler products, that stuff might not be pink.

  • @JoesCarSmartsNY

    There will still be some coolant in the system unless you use a vacuum pressure system. Doing this again later on will increase the total amount of new coolant in the system. You will never get 100% fluid out.

    what do you think about doing a distilled water flush??

  • @JoesCarSmartsNY

    @JoesCarSmartsNY

    3 жыл бұрын

    I don’t think it’s necessary. I’ve never done that on any of my vehicles. I guess the exception could be if the wrong coolant was put in, or a mixture put in that could cause coagulation or contamination. But if you’re just draining and refilling with proper coolant, a flush should not be necessary in my opinion.

    Is Prestone coolant just as good?

  • @JoesCarSmartsNY

    @JoesCarSmartsNY

    2 жыл бұрын

    Original Chrysler coolant is best. If you can get A Prestone formula that’s “OAT” compatible or listed on the jug as compatible with Chrysler engines of this year then that is a good second choice. Do not use the regular green coolant. It had a different formula for a reason. You’re risking internal corrosion and/or coagulation of the regular green coolant.
