    I've test driven a Mercedes GL, a Lexus LX and this Escalade and I have to say the Escalade impressed me the most. I've never liked Escalades until I test drove this one.

    Are you serious? No really, I have driven all the SUV's you just mentioned and to me the GL450 is by far the best looking and overall the best of them all, a fully loaded Escalade is over $90k, that's ridiculous when it doesn't even have an independent rear suspension, it does offer the most room of the SUV's in that class but it lacks the refinement that $90k SUV should offer, and the new design is just ugly specially the tail lights, does not look classy at all IMO, looks more like one riced out SUV

    Craig is one of the best ''Word Play'' auto editors. This is one of his best. ''Cadillac'' especially Escallade's association to the Hip-Hop music genre (Videos, Songs etc.) over the last 20 - 25yrs was clever... by mentioning the artists. That music genre made Cadillac cool to the 25 - 45yr old buyers. At a time when other GM products are not highly regarded.

    hmmm haha this is probably the best looking SUV i've seen, the range rover is just a land rover with a different name plate and a lot more non sense, all the mercedes look the same, and lexus in my opinion, has no competition at all because anything japanese is almost as unreliable as a range rover.

    this car is a beauty. The only that bothers me is that why would they put an old platform transmission. 6 speed transmissions were big on luxury cars 10 years ago. They should make an 8 or 9 speed transmission to improve fuel economy and to smooth out the ride even more.

    If you watched MTV in the early part of last decade you would understand why the Escalade is what it is today. Back then having 20 inch wheels was a big deal and the Cadillac badge alone sold the thing even when the interior was exactly the same as the Tahoe/Yukon.

  • @WheelsRCool
    @WheelsRCool10 жыл бұрын

    I like the interior to this particular Escalade. it is the exact color scheme (on the interior) that I'd want. Exterior, I'd either one a red, white, or black one. Those Volvo station wagon taillights are an acquired taste though.

    Mahmod Mokhtar Firstly, I'm American so wouldn't I know whether or not I am racist. Most people I know (Americans) don't hate anyone because of where they come from or what race they are. I know because I have first hand experience with AMERICANS! Secondly, I couldn't care less if people come or leave the United States. Its a land for everyone. Thirdly, I am not European I am American because I was born and raised in America. Fourthly, EVERY country has a past and have done things that they are not proud of. I don't even know anyone who's grandparents grandparents lived when all that happened so you cannot associate them with me whatsoever. You sir, are the racist.

    EXCELLENT video. Clear, concise, great humor (not trying too hard), not too long, covered all the bases. The only issue I can see is the fact that it's a positive review on a highly over-priced GM car that is destined to be an incomplete, unreliable, gas-guzzling, OPEC-supporting, MASSIVE POS.

  • @F41Driver

    @F41Driver

    10 жыл бұрын

    You're a MASSIVE POS. It's got the best fuel economy in it's class, but no, let's keep touting how economical the Japanese and Europeans are. As for reliability, have you ever owned a European car out of warranty? I've got tons of experience with GM SUVs and that's why I continue to own them to this day, they are solid and reliable. Quit regurgitating old stereotypes.

  • @MooperSC

    @MooperSC

    10 жыл бұрын

    I have owned multiple European cars that were out of warranty... The cost will kill you, thats why I learned to lease them. That way you always have a nice car when you leave the showroom, and you have warranty and superior customer service throughout your entire ownership experience. Ever take a Chevy in for service?? Worst experience imaginable.

    For the record, I just returned a 2012 Chevy Volt that I forced GM to repurchase. It was a huge piece of shit. I'm so glad it's gone. I hated that thing. Great idea, appallingly poor execution.

  • @F41Driver

    @F41Driver

    10 жыл бұрын

    Nima Ataei Yes, I've taken my two new Chevrolets and two new GMCs in for service, but not often. When I did they helped me with my issue and I was happy. My last new Chevrolet, a 2012 Sonic, was damn near flawless the two plus years I owned it. The only time I took it in was at about week three when it became apparent there was a misaligned climate control door that they promptly fixed. Every Volt owner I've talked to loves their car. I'm going to lease a second generation Volt when they come out.

  • @MooperSC

    @MooperSC

    10 жыл бұрын

    I've (had) two Volts. One just got repurchased from GM. The other one is buggy, but not as bad as the first one. In any case, I've taken them both to a handful of GM service centers in multiple states, and they all are subpar at best. The facilities are old, ugly, run down, service advisors are generally incompetent and unaware of common issues, I am always forced to be transferred to and from Enterprise for my loaner car, adding at least 40 mins to the service experience (minimum). To top things off, GM requires that all rental cars issued through Enterprise be a GM product, even if they have to make you wait an hour while they transfer a POS GM product from another Enterprise branch. AND it was usually a major piece of garbage that was an excessively large, gas guzzling, blind-spot-ridden, car and was usually more expensive to rent then a Fiat, but I still had to take it because it was a GM. GM doesn't know the first thing about customer service. I (reluctantly) gave them a (two) chance(s), both of which they let me down on. My relationship with the company will be permanently severed once the second Volt's lease ends in July, and I will once again enjoy driving cars. I've never had better justification to pay a premium for German cars. But let's be real, the Japanese make the ultimate vehicle.

    I like the looks quite a bit actually. Better than the 13/14 models. Those with their oval-ish headlamps looked ugly to me. For everyone that are saying cadillac sucks and to buy a european/japanese alternative instead, remember the target group. I can't help but say despite those cars being very reliable and cost effective(especially japanese ones) you simply don't get the 'Swag' that you get with the Escalade. And that is a big deal for the target group as it seems.

    The interior in the Yukon XL is no joke either. I priced a nicely loaded XL Denali and it came to $78,000 I don't know if the Cadi is $20,000 dollars better than the Denali. The one thing that I don't know if I like yet is the QUE system in the Caddy I have tried several and I have mixed feeling about it. They are offering a 4g onstar system on the 2015 GMC and some Caddys and that looks promising. I don't think you can go wrong with either but think I would go for the Denali also.
