2015-2018 Mercedes C-Class, E-Class, GLC- Oil Change + Service Indicator Reset M274 (W205,W213,W253)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

► Servicing your vehicle's engine oil is an essential part of maintaining your Mercedes 2.0L 4 Cylinder Turbo Charged M274 equipped vehicle. If your car is past its recommended oil change interval, our Mercedes catalog manager Kyle Bascombe is here to walk you through the steps needed to get the job done.
If you pop the hood on your Mercedes, you may notice that LIQUI MOLY isn't listed in the approved oils. But, have no fear, as LIQUI MOLY meets all the necessary approvals from Mercedes Benz, while also being a company-wide recommendation from FCP Euro (we use it in our race cars, for example) along with Mr. Bascombe himself (it goes in his personal fleet).
From draining the oil, to changing the filter, to putting the new oil in, and finally resetting your service indicator, it's all included in this DIY video.

    Excellent video and explanation of the process. I don't have a Mercedes but I know people that do have one. For what I can see it's simple process, all you have to do is make sure that you have the correct tools to perform and know where to use those correct tools. Keep up the good work.

    Couple things: definitely do NOT want a semi sealed system for the oil. If it is sealed, you'll pump no oil. Also, warm up the engine or else you'll be pumping that extractor all day. Don't get your oil nuclear; just warm and it'll start flowing nicely. Be careful with that cheap plastic snorkel pipe; you don't want to damage it. As always, that handsome devil Kyle knows his stuff!

I have two questions I have try to cancel the oil change message with your instruction which are the same as other videos but I never get to those menus to confirm the oil change is done. With that the second question is can I remove the message of oil change before actually changing the oil and filter? I know it sound dumb but is a question. Thanks for your service.

    I have a q50 2.0 t I'm curious as to if my intercooler is an air to air or air to water, and I've been using mobile 0w 40 (that's what in most auto parts stores for European oils. I take it to my mechanic and he puts it in, (infiniti service uses 0w20 which is incorrect) even though it says change the oil once a year I'm the owners manual I change it every 3 to 5 k miles as I live in NYC. Is liquimoly that much better than mobile 1

    Greetings, I have a 274 engine e180, I want to share a problem, the car misfires after 50 km and 60 km in economy mode, this misfire is more pronounced in calm driving, it becomes unclear in sports mode due to too much gas, but the same problem exists at high speed, the vehicle does not give a fault code. However, when the thermostat temperature goes downhill at 60 70 degrees, the oil, filter, spark plug, maintenance and changes of the vehicle are made, where can the problem originate, respect

    People are telling me NOT to perform top extraction because the drain plug is magnetized to catch any metal shavings. It's better to drain the oil from the pan clean the plug and replace the copper washer. Is this true? I also hear dealers perform top extraction because of the time savings of not removing the shield etc...

  • @jaymax9560

    @jaymax9560

    No. Dealers have really expensive extractors. They actually get more oil than getting it from the bottom but Change more frequently if doing it from the bottom. Find a cheap mechanic. Change oil and filter after 6 months and its better and cheaper than the dealer.

    10k miles, but i change mine every 5k. and as for why do it from the top, have you seen underneath a mercedes? depending on the model you have to remove underbody panels to get to the drain pan. and also on the M274 the filter is up top so no need to be under the car to change that. personally i bought a pneumatic one that i could hook up to my air compressor, that saves a bit more time.

    Looking at a C350e or 330e .. or 530e or E350e... all are gonna be 'endless money pits' but they are nice cars.... yea well in the real world where people will look at your Merc/B never your Kia. Though i definitely will buy that Kia or Hyundai EV for sure as a second car! I drive a Kia now and its great but yea its the real world
