    Hey what up bro thanks for the video, it helped me change mine ,same story hit 63k and chevy would not fix it since the warranty was extended already, so thats where this video fix helped,, the condencer was 100! The kicker was the refrigerant was R1234Y .... NOTE FOR ANYONE READING! to get chevy to vacuum and recharge this high price refrigerant cost $630! So have the system checked for leaks before 60k! Thanks again you still saved me a bunch!

    Great video ! After watching this video I went out to my truck and sure enough there was the leak in the exact same place as in this video. How crazy is that? Luckily for me I am still in warranty another 4000 miles and I wouldn't be. Thanks a lot bro! 👍

    Thank you for posting this. We have a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe that we bought new and at 36,600 miles the AC quit working. The dealer said SOL. Long story short our condenser had a small pin hole leak up on the driver side. GM put a piece of duct tape looking material about 6"x6" over that exact spot so they knew there was an issue with it.

    Log into your onstar app and there should be a special coverage for this for your model. Special Coverage 17336 should cover you till 100,000 km or 60,000 miles. I just had mine go and I emailed my dealer and attached pictures of what I saw along with the letter/notice on onstar.

I had to deal with the replacement being a little bent, so had to flex it to get it to fit and the plastic housings were a pain in the ass (drivers side doesn't fit right over top port) but because of your video I was able to get it done in 3 hours give or take because of the issues I had to fight with. @@HomieHektor I'm going to have a shop diagnose it. After watching the video I thought I'd go ahead and hook up my a/c gauges just to see how much refrigerant was left in the system. When I hooked up the gauges it read high on the low side and low on the high side which from what I understand points to the compressor. (Low and High read the same at 100) Wouldn't the a/c gauges read different if the system had a refrigerant leak?

  • @HomieHektor

    @HomieHektor

    4 жыл бұрын

    Ray Perrenoud if the system was low on refrigerant you would have low readings on both gauges. Both gauges not moving at 100 psi means no refrigerant flow, possible compressor, compressor clutch, or an electrical issue (no power or ground at the compressor)

    Hector I have a 2014 yukon that the ac compressor won't engage. I was checking for power at the relay with a test light and I touched one of the pins on the relays and the compressor engaged. I switched relays with another but it didnt work. As long as I had that one pin grounded it would work. Do you know where I need to look. thank you sir.

    Hector nice content. I have a 2015 Silverado LTZ. My Compressor locked so I replaced the compressor, condenser, and Expansion valve. I’m not sure what else to look at my compressor clutch engages added freon but it blows out hot on cold start and ac will only kick in when I’m driving? You ever run into this or maybe I missed something?

    Brennan Hitori Yeah it should still engage unless it runs really low to the point where the pressure sensors will inhibit compressor operation
