    Nice job. Thank you. Why did you remove the bands on the rear axles instead of pulling them out of the diff?

  • @thediyyardie7192

    @thediyyardie7192

    I could have don't without pulling the bands, but I was actually trying to remove the diff without pulling the suspension or exhaust system, in the end I had to disassemble the drivers side of the suspension to get it out.

    Hey thanks for the video, I have to do the same job on a 2015 Infiniti qx60, is it possible to pull the cv axles out of the differential that way I don’t break the cv axle joint boots?

  • @thediyyardie7192

    @hsamo713, yes you can pull them apart this same way, but you will also need pop out the ends of the axles and transfer them to the new diff, my intention was to include how to do that in my video, but somehow was unable to locate that footage while editing. Anyways you're welcome and good luck..

    Much thanks Chris, the repair shop wanted $3000 for removal and install with a reman diff, that price covered parts and labor, I did the job for about half that price, parts and labor, helping out a good friend. There's a link in the description box above for the diff I used on this repair..

    Is there any balance for the drive shift when replacing it back on the differential?

  • @thediyyardie7192

    @thediyyardie7192

    11 ай бұрын

    No need for balance, drive shaft is machined for a centered fit, I would only worry about balancing if you have had to have that done for some reason prior or if you experience vibration while driving that wasn't there until after replacement of the diff..

    Very poor quality differential. Nothing like 40s - 80s when you changed fluid if you did a repair. 10 years same fluid not uncommon. My rogue differential went out at 38,000 and again at 111,000👎🏼😥

    @u812green7 I totally agree with you about the quality, the really don't make cars the way they used to, and I think that is intentional. my channel is all about helping the average guy to do his or her own repairs..
