He uses the bands to replace the spotter so the spotter doesn't spot the guy "fully" . So that way it trains the player to do it by himself .

+Gabriel Bravo He does that to strengthen the top portion of the bench. Its basically a rack lockout. Not sure where you got your lifting info from.

Zulhilmi Rahman He is about the player getting used to the weight. Not about the spotter.

+Zulhilmi Rahman No he didn't. Reverse bands are used to train the top half portion of the bench. When the weight is all the way down on the players chest the bands are taking some of the load. The weight gets heavier and therefore harder the more you push up because the bands are taking less and less of the weight as you move the bar. It has nothing to do with spotting.

Alexx that's what I was thinking, I don't understand. Some kids didn't look over 180 with there hips off the bench.

Alexx it helps you get a push. When I was a freshman I couldn't do 205 all by myself, I had my spot help with three fingers for 225 X 5 leaving me in control of the push. The next week i hit 215 no sweat.

Alexx my thought was that it was to help with the spot bc there was so many people on that gym at one time

ivuhry Fortnite over loading the muscles on the way down, the band only helps on the way up along with the spotters. This really does help a lot
