@@notthis5gen723 It's not that they don't like mods it's just that you have to be careful because the stock pistons are Hyperutectic not forged and they have a very high ring land and they have very tightly gapped rings. If you built too much heat in the cylinder it's easy to lock the rings up which then knocks the tops of the pistons off. The stock crank is forged, the stock rods are Sinter Forged it's the pistons... And beyond that, it's really the ring gaps. If you took the rings out and opened up the clearances for them, chances are the pistons would then be fine. But it doesn't make sense to do that so if you are tearing down the block it just makes sense to buy forged H beam rods and forged slugs. I run a 2.3 liter intercooled magnuson blower on my 392 and I run a very safe tune from Hemifever and I run 6lbs boost and it's been absolutely perfect. Sure, I only make 550 horse at the wheels.... And the supercharger is capable of so much more than that.... But until I tear the block down, 6lbs is where it stays.

@@notthis5gen723 I guess the other way to look at it is that they don't respond the small mods. You have to look at the fact that the 392 is making just shy of 500 horsepower stock, NA. They are pretty well tuned from the factory with factory tubular headers, a decent compression ratio, a decently large cam etc. They do respond to wilder cams and long tube headers with good programming but all that stuff winds up costing a small fortune to do.

Mustang drivers used to get clowned on by everyone for not knowing how to drive because of all the wrecks that were happening , but There has been so many people wrecking in hellcats and scatpacks it’s crazy. I was thinking upgrading to the 6.4L but I might just get a camaro

@@302ant You're partly right. Stock wheels are to skinny, and were more so designed with ride comfort in mind with the bigger sidewall. I'm on 245 all the way around with a smaller sidewall and my 2014 gt handles great. 245 is fine upfront, but id like to bump up to a 265 in the rear. The bigger problem is that Camry sized rear sway bar that has no business being in cars like these. There's also a lot of people that don't understand this, and haven't had anything faster than modern economy cars before they jump straight to a power house car and don't know how to actually drive it.

The scat also makes 485hp with an 8 speed auto, stock 2014 mustangs put down 420 and this was a 6 speed auto. But he’s a bit more than bolt on, I heard headers, full exhaust, so obviously tune plus being on e85 and an intake, that’s pretty much full bolt on so yeah the gap was imminent lol

The power to weight difference is just gigantic, you weigh a 1000 pounds more and have 50 less horsepower. Also on paper I believe the powerboost is low 5s to 60 and 14 second quarter, while the scat is low 4s to 60 and under 13 second quarter

forgot to mention the 5.0 is modified, less weight and more aerodynamic, which all contributes to ALOT.

I'm 48 and have been in a lot of fast cars. Earlier this year I road in a friend's coyote and was amazed how fast it was. I drove a second year viper and it would be bus lengths behind the new 5 liter. Fastest thing I ever rode in was a 71 Chevy truck that I would put against anything Detroit makes and a lot of European cars.

Driver accounts for alot! People who grew up driving manuals know how to down shift first then go. Most don't anymore.

Coyote's with bolt ons and corn are really fast. You'd have to do the same mods to the scat + a cam and port work before It can run against that. Modding is key. If you're driving a stock car, odds are you're gonna get walked by someone.

392's have amazing heads (apache) they really respond with big HP gains on camshafts and a bored out throttle body and port matched intake. It's just that cams are so damn expensive these days.... (not just for the 392)

(IMO) I like both the Mustang, Charger, Challenger, and Camaro. But I like the design of the Dodge (mainly Challenger) and camaro for a rep of being most modifiable And Camaro for just a track car. But I would keep mines stock at least so no future problems occur till I get proper stuff.

boltons and a conservative tune will probably do more good then harm, it's when people treat their cars like tracks cars and don't do enough maintenance to keep up with how they're driving it and always pushing it farther then it is capable of especially with a stock intercooler and clutch, and also dumbasses running stupid tunes to make more power then it should while doing all of that or they mess with the other settings without knowing what they're doing because they watched a youtube video.

Not true buddy. Intake e85 and exhaust will add like 30-35 hp. I know because that's what I have done. Also, stock for stock they are very close to each other. Scat has a tiny edge from all the torque but the coyote has the top end Everytime. I have videos racing scats when I was stock. With these mods I keep up with fbo cam e85 scat 😂😂. And my 1st gen only cost me 13k lol

I love challengers but I would never get a scat pack . A red eye wide body is a powerful beast

Good Shit bro! I drive a 2SS but I’m a big fan of the 5.0, 5.0’s give me the best runs.

The mustang makes a little less power stock and weighs a lot less. The other thing is that a coyote is much easier to get power out of than a 392. People be pulling out whole 13 page lists of modifications to their hemi and the total gain would be 15whp. Yeah it’s not always about the peak gain but 450whp for 3krpm and up vs 750whp for 5krpm and up really makes a difference. Plus you don’t literally weigh over 2 tons.

@@wxgerss8924 nah, there’s actually not much you can do to improve the hp on the scats. Compression is too high so you have to stay naturally aspirated or you blow the engine. You can get a good 600hp or so out of them, but by the time you do that the coyote could be supercharged and pushing out 800hp and running circles around you.

Problem is getting the Scat to hook up. Stock tires are shit. Not sure what this Scat was running but i can spin the tires in third with ease.

@@302ant on numbers, for both stock cars, they’re very similar in times between the 392 scat pack and a mustang gt. With the mustang being faster simply because it weighs about 600 lbs less. But if you both were tuned and modded, you probably did a better job with your tune. A Shelby would destroy a scat pack or a coyote mustang but as far as the stock for stock cars, they’re very similar.

I've owned 2 scat packs, charger and Challenger.. they are not that fast.... The coyotes are know joke with mods. I've had some modded coyotes hang with my 911 turbo on 40mph rolls, given I always win but the coyotes are tuff

Stock on stock Scat always wins. But Fords are cheap and easy to mod so they always win. Scats aren’t really the modding type of car. But they are quick stock none the less

First off, if a car that would normally be slower, stock, wants to challenge, it's most likely modded. Secondly, who gives a shit whether a modded car can beat a car that's stock. What is the point of it? I've seen minivans beat sports cars on the drag strip. Personally, I have no interest in any car that modded to death. It's a car that is no longer falls in it's category and class. Take it to the strip and pull some times, but racing it as some mysterious modded sleeper...lame
