I just picked up a '15 with no miles for $9,000. The dealer was essentially begging me to take it. Little did he know it was the exact bike I was wanting and would have paid full price! I installed Vance and Hines Urban Brawlers, took off those ugly mirrors for bar ends, put in a moto dynamic integrated tailight/turn signals, moto dynamic feder eliminator, and am waiting on my windscreen. Later, I intend to put on headers, get my ECU flashed and get a juice box. This is one pissed off ninja turtle. Very powerful. Very easy to handle. I've ridden sport bikes my whole life. I am now 37 and think this is my favorite one. I've had R6's, CBR's and one Gixxer. And this toasts them in comfort and aesthetics.

Agreed! Once you change the exhausts it sounds MEAN!! not to mention the significant weight reduction. I did a full titanium 4-1 single exit with a race can and Oh man it's crazy!

Moto Kombat Definitely need to put new headers on her. Get rid of that box underneath. But then I'll need a power commander and a dyno run. $$$$$$$$. It's in the works though. Can't wait. When I put my pipes on, it leaned it out a bit. Not unmanageable but the throttle isn't nearly as smooth as it was. And she pops a little when downshifting.

I just picked up a 2016 Z1000 about 4 months ago and I still get a kick out of the raw power of this bike! It is in my def a "muscle bike". It kind of blows my mind how this bike doesn't sell that well. I believe that most people go with the most popular bikes and this could be why. I know they only made about 250 of these beauties. This is the only bike I wanted and still love. I take it to bike night and it gets a lot of attention and most bike enthusiast have no idea what is... I love it! Great video and I just subbed!

I bought a 2010 Z1000 from this shop in early 2010. Probably the first sold in TX, one of the first in the US. I have 25,000 miles on it, have ridden it in 14 countries on 3 continents and love it! The 2014 was an improvement on appearance and handling. If anyone is considering buying this bike, do it. You’ll love it!

I own this exact bike and color combo. It’s a beast. I love the second gear clutch up wheelies - headlights are beautiful- just a beast

I bought a 2015 Z1K in February of 2018 ... the bike was 3 years old and it only had 409 miles on it, yes, you read that right .. picked it up for $7800 .. I'm 41 years old and have been riding street bikes since I was 17 .. by far the most favorite bike I have ever owned .. it now has, aftermarket exhaust, tail eliminator, tail light with integrated turn signals, flush mount front signals, and bar end mirrors .. looks great!!

The Z1000 has really grown on me and it's considerably less expensive than it's competitors. That tachometer is kinda weird and I prefer analog but that's a screaming deal.

Scandalous!! ive got one of these. I had a gen1 5 years back or so, been round a few bikes and came back to the gen4 - chose it over the s1000r. I have a couple of other bikes too and if i was forced into keeping one and selling the other 2 this is the one id keep.

Good evaluation! I have a 2015 model, bought it new. I just returned from a trip to NH (not on it), but I took it up there in my truck from San Antonio to see family and rode it up Mt. Washington! Let me tell you this Z1000 is the perfect bike to ride up that mountain -fast! I passed like 6 cars going up and 3 cars and 2 motorcycles going down it. The long stretch of dirt road going up Mt. Washington was roost central. Cliffs and roads with no guard rails IS the fun of this bike on that road - it's in its element doing that, just don't drone along the highways!

Powaaa ! I ride a Z1000 ( 2006 ) and I feel the same ! It allways puts a big smile on my face lol.

Had mine since January, it gets better the more km's I put into it, power is so good on roll on's in 6th. Brakes are so strong, I have never felt the ABS and I have tugged them real hard trying to find the ABS intervention. ♥️😜

I like it! The 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 looks cool, it just looks like a mean ass grasshopper! I like the sharp shaped angles on the bike! That style bike I do not care for on most other bikes, but this 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 showed me that what I did not like before, could be liked!

When I had my z1000 I took the mirrors off and took the tail off and plasti dipped it all black and looked amazing. Switched it for the R1 and totally regret the lose off power everywhere and the comfort.

When I get older I want this bike it has been my dream bike for awhile

I love this bike I went from a 2015 636 to a 15 z1000 and I love it. I paid 7800 for it and it had 1100 miles I put after marker mirrors and an akrapovic full system. Great bike

I luv the look of this bike, just bought 09 fz6n , just about nearly ready to register it,am thinking about z1000 later on.

...a year later: I had to watch this again. There's one for sale, used, at about $7k out the door.... 1700 miles! This video is a good ad for riding a bike in the Texas hill country! I'd forgotten how nice it is there.

I own a 2014 Z1000, and it's been ridden through both city streets and a Dallas to LA round trip. I have to say it has never skip a beat and the performance never seized to surprise. It's definitely not a beginner's bike, as it will keep your senses sharp every time you throw a leg over. And the best part about it is that it hides its weight so well that you'll never believe this thing is almost 500 pounds wet when you ride it.

I have the cb1000r and it has less hp but it weighs a lot less. im considering getting a kawasaki though. either this or the ninja 1000 abs

Chris Halvorson I'm glad no one likes it. That means I have a unique ride. Everyone's riding around on R's, or CBR's or Gixxers. Or FZ's. I see a lot of those. I rarely ever see anyone riding a Z. I think I am the only one where I live.

My first bike was a Z1000 from 2006 and I still have it :) Was the easiest bike to ride and incredible forgiven ! I never put even a scratch on it .

Ive been testriding the Z750. Itsreal commuting bike. Loved it to chill.. So this must be even better commuting.... grtz

This bike is popular in Ukraine, when I was there last summer two of my buddies bought two of them one of them was maroon color and another one identical as you showing here one I believe it's apple green, now having said that I rode this bike for about three days and I fell in love with it, it's so smooth and at the same time and has so much horses under your bum, it's just pools you like crazy, who rode one you know what I'm talking about

I have that exact bike and I love it. I think most people prefer pocket rockets so like zx6r instead of this but it beats them on the jump just not as much top speed.

I buy my 2014 Special edition for same reason, best looking naked bike ever. Lot of better ride after tire change for Michelin Pilot Road 4. MRA racing screen helps for high speed handling. Renthall fatbar is 8 cm wider than original and fit well for bigger riders. Also put Versys radiator cover from SW Motec, its needs only small cuts for inner fairings. Loved that bike every day more and more.

My 2019 Z1000R with full exhaust and ecu flash beats pretty much any bike to 240 (150), its a 0-120 type of bike (142whp/83lbs)

I certainly can't believe that this bike hasn't been sold considering the price ! I live in Costa Rica which is by many people seen as paradise . However when it comes to motorcycles I can tell you that you get purged like crazy. I bought this bike brand new in April and it's true what you say about the bike, the z's amazing but the price tag is exactly twice as high as in the US....😩 With the price you mentioned I would have bought two , trust me. Nice review ! Safe rides !!! Bye the way what do you use for audio, sounds pretty good considering the wind .

This is going to be my next bike. If you think that one has torque, ride a Buell Lightning. 110hp v twin. Loved that bike so much.

I believe the closest competition to this bike is the GSXS 1000. Lighter, more faster, Traction control equipped which act as ride modes, and a pretty cool sound too!

Amazing review man I think the z1000 will change the look next year for that i think the riders are waiting the new generation of the z 1000 I think!

A used one of these cost just a little more than a brand new mt-09 (which was the bike I was gonna buy before paying the Z1000 any attention) where I'm from. Fingers crossed that I can find the right deal on one soon cuz I'm in love.

Considering if the Z1000 were stock, a tail tidy, bar end mirrors and set of Urban Brawlers maybe even a lightweight battery you cold easily drop 20 or more pounds. Like what your friend did and that was just the stock mufflers, it's possible to get that wet weight down to around 465lbs with out a full system.

Amazing bike got 2014 z low miles. But still after years of having it still love it spend a lot of money 💰 carbon part and it looks amazing enjoy

He is right I have one also I did a review on it...I added a custom windscreen and now it looks like a motorcycle Darth Vader would ride. Also very torque off the start and not as heavy as the R1 I used to have. My favorite bike so far and very reliable.

i would love this bike, but I think it is too much now that the the gsx-s 1000 is out, wish I was closer to your guys dealership (I live way across the country), but am kind of interested in the z800, fz 09, etc. where I am this bike is just too much even tho where I am at it is also a 2 year old hold over (it is still close to 11000 here)

No idea why it gets over looked. Just got a 15 cheap. Sold my 13 gsxr 1000 for it. Love it. Guess it doesn't fit in with the cool kids full fairing club.

I know it is an old review but I just saw it… I sold my 2014 z1000 because it was too much power and fun without traction control, I was lifting the front tire exiting from curves, with two kids you cannot be doing that type of stun on the weekends and believe that nothing will go wrong, so I sold it and I got a 2016 KTM Super Duke 1290 R and never looked back.

i think it hasn't been sold because it's 1000cc......i think a lot of people want a mid level bike like a fz07 or something. there are also a lot of cheaper bikes like the fz07. i think that's why. it's also becasue the fz07 is just so popular that people want that more because they just see it so much. just like any other naked bike barely sells

Did you experience any vibration between 6500 and 9000? It was extremely bad the other day. I've never felt anything like that before. It was all up the seat, foot pegs, and handle bars. Pretty much the whole bike. I made my legs hurt from the vibration in the footpegs

Mr223wssm If I can remember correctly it had some vibrations on footpegs and gas tank and some plastics were rattling. But not much vibrations in the bars.

the brakes are actuality made by tokico which are the same as my cbr. I am reallly thinking about getting this and trading my 2012 honda cbr 1000rr.
