I remember that summer 2014. I was 14, preparing to enter high school. I would get up at 7am, watched nearly all of the games in tv. 8 years later, a college graduate, but this world cup has one of the most memorable and vivid moments I will ever have. I miss those days

That intro is so well made as a Brazilian tourism video that you can pinpoint the actual locations inside the cities shown in it. Rio de Janeiro: somewhere in Morro dos Prazeres. Pão de Açúcar, Cristo Redentor, and the Maracanã Stadium are exactly in the directions the little boy is looking. Brasília: the flyby starts at Praça dos Três Poderes and go towards the TV Tower over Esplanada dos Ministérios. All the landmarks are shown in the correct order and positions (National Congress, Cathedral, National Museum, and the TV Tower). São Paulo: Avenida Ipiranga, one or two blocks away from Copan Building. The sidewalk pattern is the same, and there's even a graffited wall. You can reach Banespa Tower going that way. Salvador: Probably Ladeira do Carmo, and the church shown being the Our Lady of the Rosary. You can't see Fonte Nova from there, but it really is in that direction. Northeastern Brazil: Even though they show all three stadiums in the area as sand castles on the beach, that beach is Boa Viagem (Recife). Even some of the buildings at the beachfront are recognizable.

Same, it was amazing. I travelled to Brasil to watch Germany play, I had dreamt with this since I was a child, not only I watched them play but they won the world cup. I don't think there will ever be another World Cup filled with surprises like we had in Brasil 2014, not to mention the passion the game is lived in South America... that passion makes it even more remarkable.

@@hijodelucasbeltramo8661 Sudafrica no está mal pero Brasil 2014 LPM que mundial, el ambiente la música, desde octavos hasta la final eran partidazos, Argentina-Holanda con las tapadas de Romero, la maldición del campeón, la sorpresa que fue Costa Rica, la Final, el "No era Penal", la goleada que le cayó a Brasil de local entre más cosas, para mí el mejor mundial que he visto en mi opinión.

El 2014 fue el mejor año de mi vida. Terminaba la secundaria y para mis amigos fue un acontecimiento cada partido de la selección argentina. Encima fuimos a Bariloche y cada día allí fue una locura.

Brasil 2014 fue el primer mundial que vi (tenía 9 años) y gracias a este mundial, me aprendí los nombres de los países, así como las respectivas capitales. Pd: Recuerdo que cuando vi la final, quería que ganara messi (aunque era del madrid) pero como que me dolió que la perdiera. Lo que no sabe la selección actual de Argentina es que alegró a un niño de 9 años del 2014

Yo solo me he visto tres Brasil 2014 🇧🇷, Rusia 2018 🇷🇺 y Qatar 2022 🇶🇦 En una escala pongo de primer a Brasil, seguido de Qatar y por último Rusia. Aunque debo admitir, que la final de QATAR 2022 FUE DE LOCOS! Un paro al corazón fue, algo INOLVIDABLE.

I miss the World Cup so much. It was probably the biggest hype of my summer. This opening truly brought a smile upon my face before every game. Just like every opening should. 2018 can't come any faster!!

Best World Cup opening theme. Love the Ooooeeeaaaahhh vocals, sounds so traditional and South American, back when football was about joy, togetherness, fun, summer, everything you could possibly imagine in a World Cup during summer. Especially if you’re in a school so you can watch all the games, no matter who plays. Really miss those simple times

This brings me tears. I used to live in Vietnam so we had to watch games at very late night, sometimes 3am. I walked to our local café to watch these games with my friends. The streets were very quiet but that café was a noisy corner. Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of the bond and the friendship I have through football.
