Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

    Gloves good for half an accident aren't good at all. You can get good gloves for $150...saving your hands is worth the money a thousand times over. What can you do in life without hands? IMO, the most important gear after a helmet are good gloves.

    The only thing I don't like about the HP4 - the asymmetrical headlamps. Why did they need to do that? Any answers or explanations would be appreciated.

  • @brakesforsnakes757

    @brakesforsnakes757

    5 жыл бұрын

    You may think the asymmetrical headlight and fairing is just a design factor but it’s not. With a single round projector on the left, the motorcycle did not throw enough light to meet the norms of a street legal motorcycle. So BMW provided a massive lamp on the right to meet the norms. Now why did BMW not give the same big lamps on both sides? Well it helped them shave off 300-500 grams on the bike. 500 grams may not seem much but that’s how serious BMW is about performance. And this is just one example how they have shed weight. The round left projector is also meant give the bike a look of an endurance racer. The design philosophy followed for the S1000RR. shifting-gears.com/why-does-the-bmw-s1000rr-have-asymmetric-headlights-and-fairing/

    Obviously not 273lbs. Not sure what DDS is that is going to be available on other bikes. That being said I have one and love it. There are no stock bikes on the road that "stomp" this bike as its been said in some posts. Further, there are no modified bikes that "stomp" this bike either unless youre talking about a turbo busa or a bike with nitrous on it. However, those bikes are all all drag bikes, not track bikes which is what this bike is. I'll take a tuned track bike over a modded drag bike any day just for the sheer pleasure of coming out of a 45 degree lean and hammering the bike from 100-150 in 5 or less. My friend asked me if he thought my stock HP4 could hang with his modded busa which produces 230hp plus and is built for drag, my only reply was after the first turn I'd have him...which is without a doubt true. The HP4 Comp sells for 25k plus MSRP. The standard HP4 is around 20k. Truth be told this bike is the best sports bike I have ridden from the Panigale S and R...yes an acquaintance actually has one...to the ZX10r, RSV4...list goes on. This bike is built for the riding enthusiasts not for the 20 somethings that view straight line 1000 meter runs as the "tell all" of a bike's ability. If you have the money and can attain an HP4 you'll get off every time especially when you start cornering the bike. The DDC will fool you into thinking you're a better rider than you are.

    +Mingo Rolince The engineering is fine, it's just that it's geared toward a more American riding attitude. Biking has been part of US culture so long that you're gonna have a lot of sport bike riders and motard guys and even the odd café racer guy, but you're going to have a massive number of old guys who want to drop a chunk of money on a big heavy recliner of a motorcycle and just putt around enjoying their retirement. You simply don't see nearly as much of that in the Isles or continental Europe.

  • @pursuinginsanity

    @pursuinginsanity

    10 жыл бұрын

    Lou - Are you sure you're not thinking of the base S1000RR?? Because the HP4 has some significant weight savings.. Even the '15 ZX-10R weighs about 70 lbs more (wet) than the HP4 does dry.. 4.5 gal of fuel weighs about 28 lbs, thus I'd wager the HP4 may be a few lbs lighter even when fully wet. I'd love to see a source saying the ZX-10 is lighter - both wet, ready to ride. Either way the ZX-10 can't match the power to weight ratio so it's moot is it not? Can't touch the top speed either. I mean, it's only what, 15-20hp/5ft-lbs short at-the-wheel? That's far from an insignificant number.. Tex - The 1190rs is roughly the same weight as the HP-4 (something like 4lbs lighter dry.) Even then who the hell is going to pay more than $44k for one?? Not to mention.. it being an 1190.. you can't really call it a liter bike any more can you? The 1198 Superleggera beats it anyway - but it costs a whopping $65k so again - who cares at that point? Also - Anything more than 1k cc and you're in the open class - not really comparable any more. The Buell also can't match the Beemer's power - especially when we get into factory tuning. (Can you say 212hp HP4?! I can only imagine..)

    BMW HP4 MSRP is around $19500. BMW HP4 Comp which was stated in the Video is around $25000 to $26000 depending. Dealers are selling the bike on the East Coast for around $28000 and up and they sell almost instantly. Check your facts bro.

    Yup^ I put a $500 deposit down October 2012 and had my 2013 HP4 delivered the week after Christmas. There's a much longer waiting list now though is what I'm being told. Mine was build #0585 and a standard model for just under 20K with the passenger pegs and seat option and heated grips.

    Ducati claims to have sold how many Panigale...4k? BMW built and sold what, 800 HP4's in two years? Perhaps ownership of a Panigale is more exclusive because they're so hard to sell.

    If the bike changes direction perfectly...why are you all over the road and crossing over the white line? I don't need "test riders" like this running up the mileage for no reason.
