Very nice John, roughly 2 hours doesn't seem so bad to accomplish what you did. Granted, everyone will have their own speed, but this definitely gives you the sense of time it takes.

I enjoyed it very much. I had no idea how much work it took to make a good quality axe. I'm not a blacksmith but I truely enjoy watching a good artiest at work.

Very interesting Axe making, I am trying to get an anvil and i will have to keep browsing the net. I am using an I beam a real heavy one and getting bye with that.

A fantastic look at an axe making, i have never seen a whole conference only snippets on KZread and may never see one in real life. I am having trouble finding another blacksmith let alone a guild/club. Really enjoyed the series and the things i have learnt from your video.

There are about 80 in attendance, but not everyone sits in on every demonstration. We also have TV monitors in a few locations outside the shop, so some people watch from there.
How would you cut a square hole in A2 tool steel 5/8 in. thick?

Hot punching is the first thing that comes to mind.
These have been great. Gona have to order me some from the rockie mountain smiths. Any videos you have seen that you would recommend John?

What brand of Rasps are those handmade ones and who supplies them in the US?

Rolf Olson Take a look at the Corradi Gold series rasps, also. They are machine cut, but a former editor of Popular Woodworking told me that they were almost as good as the Auriou rasps.
