Thank you! I just replaced mine 2016 Toyota corolla LE with duracell CR2016 battery. It worked fine. Just a side note, there was a wired strong smell when I opened the duracell new battery pack. I bought in Walmart.

Thanks! I suggest you also recommend using the replacement battery instead of a screwdriver to open the key fob out and inner cases. Less chance to damage the plastic housings.

Also battery CR 2032 works as well on the 2016 Corolla. I use it because that’s all I had available is the same battery my 2021 X4 uses

My Fob came with the tool on the key chain to open the Fob.

I have this key fob and lately the remote hasn't been working so when I try the key it won't let me turn it to open my car and my alarm starts to ring ? Is it because if the battery doesn't work my key won't even allowe me to turn and open my car manually

@@RowdyRoadieee so I found out the battery I used is cheap and doesn't last long try replacing the battery

Dollar Tree sells the batteries - 2 for $1.25

Thanks for the instructions. Honestly I think the design of this is so stupid and tedious

I changed my battery out of my key fob, but it still doesn't work to lock or unlock the doors using the buttons. What do I do?

I had the same issue. After installing a new battery + side up the fob still won’t unlock the Corolla.

Believe it or not try a new battery preferably energizer. I think the Duracell have a coating which affects the contact. Happened on my camry remote

It is actually very, very difficult to get the new CR2016 coin battery into the key fob unlike the video shows where it clicks in nicely, and I think Toyota's greedy ass intentionally designed it this way so customers need to go to the local Toyota dealership to spend like $100 for key fob replacement instead of replace the battery themselves. No, I didn't break anything while getting the dead battery out because in the end I eventually managed to insert the new battery, but it took a tremendous amount of effort and time to do so.

that actually happened to me and I was getting frustrated because the battery was not going in easily . But then I remembered that I had another set of keys and I opened that one and this time the battery went in easily. I’m thinking that when I opened the first fob I might’ve damaged something inside.

Is plastic edges could the tolerance dimensions of the case be smaller where it was more difficult to get the battery out?

A) Will you need to program the Fab again? B). Do you have to replace the battery quickly so that you don’t have to reprogram the fob?

Are you saying that Toyotas online information suggest using a 2032? Or is that some other site says to use a 2032?

I changed the battery but the key still does not work.

Make sure it's installed the right direction. If it is, try another battery. Sometimes you get a dud.

If you used a Duracell try going to Energizer. For some reason ppl are having issues with the Duracells.
