I spent a day with Jim and like you say he is great at it. I have made a couple baskets and these two videos are great.

I got a tip from Jim on eliminating flat spots by spray painting the piece and letting the beading tool remove the paint.

Awesome work. For coloring, what size Faber Castell Pitt pen tips should I use? Sizes come in .1mm, .3mm, .5mm, .7mm, 1.5mm, and brush.

Mr. Meyer I am just beginning to work in making some simple basket illusion pieces…for fun and for improving my turning skills. What kind/make of pens do you recommend? Thank you for teaching us. David

Another idea is to use electric wax pens that are used on Easter eggs.

Do you have a link to the graphing program you use? I have checked out a few but none seem to do what yours is doing.

Just wondering where you bought your wood burner and tips?

Seems like it would be easier just to weave a basket if you want something to look like a basket. So my question is simply, why?

I have a lathe and know how to turn, I know nothing about basket weaving. Besides, my wife would shoot me if I took up another hobby.
