How to change the spark plugs on a Volkswagen up! 2013 with 3 cylinder engine 1.0 liters . The difficult part might be removing the coilpacks from the spark plugs but with some leverage and lubrication you can pull them out quite easy .

    Greetings from India! I have a VW Polo which has the same CHYB engine. I believe it runs on the same conventional plugs shown here. Although i'm not sure if they are NGK or Bosch. That said I have been wanting to try some iridium ones. Could you please recommend/suggest the iridium replacement. Also could you tell me what plugs you are using like the model number.

    So practikaly what is mean is running rich? That the engine function is mostly of the time with cold temperatures?

  • @doit_vehicles

    @doit_vehicles

    4 жыл бұрын

    "rich condition " is when the air / fuel mixure is richer in fuel than it should be for whatever reason . 14.7 air and 1 part of fuel is always the goal an ECU wants to keep

    What is the calibration for the spark plugs? What system did you use to read the fuel mixture?

  • @doit_vehicles

    @doit_vehicles

    4 жыл бұрын

    Not 100% sure about the calibration since these days people replace the spark plugs , but it should be around 1mm. The fuel mixture can be interpreted through Long / Short term fuel trim , oxygen sensors and other air sensors situated pre combustion .

    If it's under warranty best is to be done by the vw workshop so you can keep the warranty. If not , in the near future it's good to change it when you can ; not to exceed 100 000 km
