Almost 6 years later and this is still one of my favorite DG vids. Gives me goosebumps right up until the end. Nice work Marty!

I appreciate the kind words, Patrick!
i love watching our videos!! the zooming in and out and following the discs into the chains is one of the things i like most. thank you for all the time and effort you put into making these videos.
I personally don't think that there could be any nicer of a guy to win USDGC. There's so many egos out there its great to see a guy like Steve win.
Marty, this is about my 10th time watching this and I still get goosebumps every time. As usual well done at doing an excellent job in capturing this moment of disc golf history!
I've been clicking refresh on your page since Friday hoping for this video. I'm happy now.
Im glad to finally see a disc golf video with some good camera work. I love the rack focuses, it is indeed visually appealing.
i was there for will's unfortunate collapse on 17. i thought surely his momentum from 16 was gonna carry him to another win. heartbreaking to watch. that was essentially a 4 stroke swing, and would have at least forced brinster to make that downhill putt (which he probably would have anyway.) oh well. great tourney, and great coverage, as always. thanks McFly

Yeah. The sad part is that he was trying to play a safe to the right side of the green. He just late released 2x in a row.
Awesome videos as usual. Thanks for putting them up so quick. Congrats to Brinster!
Im going to watch this so many times. Awesome coverage and what a finish!
Fantastic video, thanks so much for sharing.
You're absolutely right. Zooming does indeed compress the space between player and basket. However, I really love pulling focus manually, following the disc to the chains. I hope my viewers find it as visually appealing as I do. :)
Another great video! Great work
Its not just you, I see it in a lot of disc golf video. You do a great job and I appreciate your efforts. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
Hate to say it but I love watching the pros crumble on the tough holes. Doss had it in the bag until his unreal catastrophe on 888 and then Will had it in the bad until the infamous island green. Oh man can you imagine the pressure! Awesome camera work with NO commentary. Keep up the great work.

+aaronmizzou They were tied going into 888, how is that in the bag?
Amazing footage. I'm so stoked for Stevey
This is so easy to watch
Thanks for watching! It was frustrating for me, too, with all the traffic in front of me, but that's one of the downsides of working with longer focal lengths (70-300mm lens on an APS-C sensor camera). And, unfortunately, the other videographers that day were oblivious to the fact they were constantly moving into someone else's frame (even after the golfers had approached their mark). *smh*
Good stuff and getting them out quick, Marty. Well done. Congrats to all the finalists.
Thanks a lot for the upload! Congrats to Brinster
great video. happy to be able to see it at all. i was rootin for steave since round one. congrats, you deserve it! mr. brinster
Great filming and I love all of your videos. Only comment would be the shots during putting. When it's so far zoomed in and the players back and basket are the only things visible it's hard to judge distance.
Nice camera work, fun round, and won by a nice guy. Congrats.
Great video. So glad Steve won. I love his style. As far as filming, the only criticism I have is that many times it seemed the camera man was behind or in the crowd which resulted in a lot of people walking in front of the camera. Other than that it was great. Keep the videos coming.
34:07 Brinster lays up on 18 for the win on his card, on a 6 foot putt, but he didn't know about Barry on the chase card!!!
2009-2014 were really awesome years for DG
Yes, Robert, I had received advanced clearance for filming. They just wanted me to be clear that my releases were not official products of the USDGC or Winthrop University.
what a round! the only thing missing was Feldbergs's majestic last ditch tension run:( great hd vid clarifying the shots!
Awesome!
The hole is downhill and on a slope. They throw it slightly left of the hole so it skips off the slope and settles near the basket.
I love that you have the graphic of the holes up before each of them, but a quick question ... what do all those numbers in the red and blue shapes mean?
what light blue disc is will throwing on the 1st couple holes
Green = In Bounds, Red = Out of Bounds (penalty stroke and take it from where it was last in bounds), Yellow = Hazard (penalty stroke and play it from where it lies) This was done to minimize the need for spotters I think.
those are distances from that object to the basket or from that object to the tee most likely.
The light blue disc is a Prodigy mid-range, I think.
Gotta love Winthrop, that's such an awesome course. Congrats to Steve. And if only Nate and Will wouldn't have had those two bad holes, man that would have been one crazy finish! And I have to give Will props on the putt on 17... I couldn't have manned up and put that in after that.
Great filming! (How did you get permission to film? Doesn't that conflict with their DVD project?) Doss is so classy as always.
congrats steve
Anyone know what that huk lab stamped disc that doss was throwing all the time is?

I can't believe no one noticed that Barry came in second with so many young guns out there! So happy Steve took it down. Fuckin awesome guy.

+puddynuts Barry wasn't in the video, how would anyone notice?
Read comments AFTER watching the video. You can just about guarantee the winner will be congratulated on these...nothing wrong with that.
Unfortunately I agree with Jeremy. That was about the only thing that was annoying in the footage. Too much much zooming. Would have prefered more wide angle shots, not just putting but drives also, sometimes. Not here for visuals, but the game. Otherwise cool :)
How about don't read the comments before watching it?
Did you record the distance competition?
anyone ace hole #1?
i find it amazing that nobody could throw a straight 270 foot shot on hole 7.
It's weird - I've watched parts 1-3 the same day each was uploaded respectively, but now this... I have less incentive to watch this, the final round, because I already know how it ends! Someone felt the need to post on Reddit that Winster Brinster had won literally moments after it happened. Someone also linked on Reddit to McFlySoHigh's round 2 (at least I think it was Rnd 2) video here on KZread. Now that I think about it, I wonder if they're the same person -- or if either was McFlySoHigh..
:15 what is that on Will's neck? D:
Go Steve!
The camera work on hole nr. 4 left me hanging, otherwise great footage!
Wow...was pulling for Schusterick there but #17 was a killer.
Its crazy to see them put soo much hyzer in it. That's probably why they couldn't mash like now a days. Pros now throw more penetrating shots. Not so much spike hyzers all the time. Didn't seem to have much power management just throw it high af and hope you Gage the distance.
oh man poor doss... That hurts so much
Wasn't me. I do a fair bit of editing, but no Redditing. *bad pun*
Brinster is a putting machine!
well something is changed during 9 years...
Rounds 1 - 3 and now the 4th, and I still haven't seen all 4 players **in the same round** throw a nice, straight opening drive on #1. It's 224 ft FFS! I mean, I don't play competitively, but having seen these four paid professionals step up to the tee and botch an easy drive more times than they tossed it well, it leaves me thinking I should be playing a LOT more leagues. I mean, sure, these guys would crush me in a long-distance driving contest, but if they're this inconsistent at 224 ft...
Damn, remember mcflysohigh?

Remember Will Schusterick?
what does the yellow flag signify?
I'd like to thank my wife, she's my dx roc.
The videos look great but it looks like the 60 ft putts are 10 ft away. The pros make it look like that anyways!
These guys have some of the weirdest forehand throws I've ever seen.
@pineappaloupe
10 жыл бұрын
only use forehand when you need to. its always weird.
Thumb down so he can't ruin it for anyone else.
quite convenient to film players asses instead of throws at the 4th lane.
Does a yellow flag mean it is in the circle?
if doss could putt he woulde have won sooooo much more
Reward wasn't worth the risk, so many were laying up in front of the mando.
#4 left a bad taste in my mouth, too. There was absolutely nowhere good to go to film the drives.
hazard area. stroke penalty still but can play it where it lies.
Damn I wanted will to win
SO glad Doushterick didn't win!!
Hazard. Throw from where it lies but add one plenty stroke.
Steve deserved it
Wow, thanks for ruining for me.. God damnit I'm pissed now.
lol
ruiner of endings.

Perhaps you should.. With dogshit puns like that you'd fit in just fine with the lot of us. :) I apologize -- I'm only poking fun. Reddit is actually far too clever and funny for a pun like that.
I think i just hate brinster because his form pisses me off.
