Oh I'd take that any day and twice on Wednesday over an M6...which I happen to love...but the SL63 is just...wow. Literally the only convertible that looks equally good top up or down!

I have the refreshed version as of 2017 model and I can assure you it has a split personality, drive in comfort with the top up or put the top down and have in sport place or race mode. I love my 2018 SL63... however the continentals it comes with do not have enough traction and a good 0-60 run is almost impossible on this car. New michelins 4S should be on it. Also I looked at a porsche 911, and I thought it sounded like a sewing machine, my SL63 has incredible V8 sound !!

Mohmd Nassir It's like a tenth of a second slower to 60, but it would leave it in the top end.

Does it ever make you nervous to sign something like that out?

The M156 definitely sounded better. But here's a better question for you: What other turbocharged motor out there on sale today sounds as good as the M157 5.5 V8TT?

just a heads-up, you guys typed 537 horsepower in the description but said 557 hp. Great video though!

I'm blessed to own a 2013 SL 550 version of this car, and it's plenty, plenty fast. The 509 lb ft torque is all most anyone can ask for. Getting the AMG in this model is strictly for bragging rights. I say the AMG is too much of a good thing. And possibly a Widowmaker! LOL

It doesn't need to rev anymore than that, majority of turbocharged cars make maximum power around 5500rpm and usually a lot more torque. If you look at the old 6.2 AMG V8 that was naturally aspirated it made peak power around 7000rpm but less torque because it was more highly tuned to still make 520hp while being naturally aspirated.

The front of the car doesn't match the back.. You hit the nail on the head with that one!!! This is exactly what I feel every time I see one. MB ruined SL.

Get your hands on a G63AMG to review!! Or a G550 would be better off road actually but it doesn't sound as good or go as fast. But who needs fast in a 5600lb truck.
