2013 Mazda2

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In many ways, when you choose a subcompact car, you know what you're getting (or squeezing) into. What owners of the 2013 Mazda2 sacrifice in elbow room and cargo space, they get back in smiles thanks to a fun driving experience, says Cars.com reviewer Jennifer Geiger. The Mazda2's 100-horsepower engine feels "zippy," Geiger says. While the cleanly stylish interior is more "grown-up" than the competing Ford Fiesta, hard-plastic surfaces and cheap-looking vinyl need improvement - as does the tight backseat.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who could see the big grin on the front. I have the 2011 Mazda 2, 4-speed auto, but I love it. There is a lot of road noise and rock hard suspension, but those don't bother me much. I'll keep this car as long as she'll run.

Mazda2 reminds me of what the GTi use to be... small light simple and quick.

That's probably a good choice. I, personally would go for the Mazda2 because I value fun in driving more, but the Fiesta is more refined and more family/people oriented. The Mazda2 on the other hand is really meant for 1 person who occasionally is forced to drive a friend or 2.

she didn't mention the 6 standard airbags on this car or the high strength tensile steel Mazda used or the collapsible steering wheel and clutch/break/gas pedals.

One set of golf clubs will fit in the back, but you have to fold the rear seats down to fit more than one set.

More expensive than the others in this category? The Honda Fit is nearly $3,000.00 more than this car whether it's a base or top of the line model. Of course the Ford Fiesta is cheaper but it's also about 300lbs heavier and a real slug that is no fun to drive. Also remember, as with all Fords, it will start to give you major mechanical problems in about 50 to 60,000 miles. Therefore, it is only cheaper in the beginning. The fact that all Fords made in Mexico have warped rotors put on them from the factory means the breaks will wear prematurely and you will pay out the ass for rotors and calipers when with the Mazda, all you will have to do is replace the pads. Also, look for electric and electronic issues in the Mexican made Fiesta down the road but don't take my word for it. Go ahead and buy one and find out the hard way.

True that man you can never go wrong with made in Japan even tho its a little tiny bit more costly but with Japans a+ quality control it makes it all worth because you know its gonna last a long time.

Here in Brazil they would charge ~25.000US$ (or 50.000 BRL) for a car like this, which happens to its competitors down here (e.g. Fiesta, Sonic), BUT, I'm definitely buying this little Mazda if it makes here in the south. But anyway, nice and quick review =D

I drove a Mazda 2 a couple of years ago, it had lots of rear road noise and the suspension was rock hard so hard in fact that the glovebox door chattered. Otherwise it was a good car as far as handling and steering; I once heard from a Mazda engineer there is very little in fact shared between the 2 cars wheel bearings was one and I have forgotten the other feature? But I bought a Fiesta instead as Mazda servicing and parts are expensive and I generally frefer the Ford.

Do you agree w/ his point about the Mazda parts being more expensive? Which one will last 250k miles, the Mazda2 or Ford Fiesta????

filoIII , My Mazda 2 will definitely make it to 250,000. Fords are and always WILL BE garbage. They set you up for CONSTANT REPAIRS to buy their parts. I prefer fewer repairs with more expensive parts to junk. Fords. My dad loved his Dependable Mazda that rarely gave him problems. He drove it more than 300,000+ until the day he passed away. He had the money to buy any car he wanted but he loved his Mazda!! WHY? NO PROBLEMS AND A GREAT COMPANY.

out here in the Pacific NW, the Fiesta is more expensive than the Mazda2. Same can be said for the Focus vs Mazda3. Both Mazdas are priced cheaper when compared with the same options.

I agree Mazda 2 feels more sophisticated than Fiesta, but it's just too small for the North American Market especially the cargo area.
