IndyCar never raced at Daytona Because the road course is safe but the oval is a little deadly

Indycar World Championship sounds good. Also these ovals are great

First oval race of any kind I’ve ever attended and wow what a night. 2nd best race I attended (first was the 2015 race)

I remember the 2013 INDYCAR season so much and that was the year I got into that season a lot more and I went to INDYCAR’s return to Pocono and that was a blast. That was probably the last true best season on record with 19 races in total, 3 doubleheaders, 5 ovals etc. I enjoyed Leigh Diffey’s play by play commentary and that grew on me and Townsend Bell as well and eventually Paul Tracy later on.

Does this track deserve to be brought down? No

I’m a SoCal guy and I love this place but it’s really in need of a repave. I think reconfiguring it is a better option than replaving it and making into another Michigan, where the racing is really not great.

@@mitchellmortenson2481 I don't agree. 2 miles is a great configuration for an oval, especially for Indycar. But NASCAR decides everything, and they keep changing their minds about everything..

@@marcovenosta9950 yeah I think nascar owns the track now? Another Michigan just wouldn’t make sense. The thing that differentiates auto club from michigan is the surface. And yeah 2 milers are great for IndyCar, not great for stock cars

Everytime I watch NASCAR on this track it's pure fire. I'm a little confused, this track configuration is great.

I’m new to INDYCAR I was mainly a NASCAR fan and Jimmie was my favorite and they raced at auto club before

Man. The only way I'll be able to experience Indycars on the big Fontana oval now will have to be through rFactor 2.

The last time IndyCar ran a race in the month of October, until this year.

This track won't exist anymore :( lets hope they atleast return to Michigan

33 year old Scott Dixon won two championships in the past. Can he pull off a third one? Oh how literally hindsight is 2020 on that one.

It's ridic how empty those grandstands are! Oval racing as it's best and people not buying the tickets :/ Well now we are in pandemic without crowds and no Fontana on schedule... It's a big big shame.

ISC hasn't been helpful. The equally amazing races at Michigan were also poorly attended, largely because of little to no promotional effort.

NASCAR pisses me off this track Is amazing it does not need to become short track just cause nascar fans hate this track

Well, this going to be a really nice remember, a remember that how was this magnificent track, before 2022, because the folks of Nascar have a brilliant idea in turn this track into a 0.5 mile track, instead to go to irwindale Speedway (now Toyota Speedway). The champ cars would blew these toys away. The track has really gone down hill. Back in 90 this place was mind. Blue walls come on! Lol.

you have to remember who was driving back then engines were different drivers were different I think that drivers in 90s could never won as many championships as Scott dixion has in those days cause the cars are better built today safer and drivers are less likely to get injured

RIP Fontana. The new short track is going to suck. Short tracks in NASCAR are highly overrated.

Well look, world athletics championship takes place once every two years and in only ONE PLACE. Some sports are even completed in only ONE EVENT (world marathon champion is crowned after only one run, world cycling too, etc). Also world football cup takes place in only one country, etc. I mean, a world championship of any sport or anything else doesn't need to have events organised in every place of the world with all competitors participating to all events, in fact the "one event" is the most used kind. And though I agree Indycar being called a "world championship" seems strange.

@@gregsalisbury9783 we have championships over here that only run in the UK plus 1 round in Europe, they have drivers from all over the world but they call those British Championships.
