ib!!! Been a while.. I’m about to get a 2013 Panigale S I’m a little afraid tho cause I’m short standing at a whopping 5’7 lol.. I hope I’ll be able to actually hold it up being I’m coming from a 2012” Cbr 600rr 😬

Hi, commenting from 2019, and I'm looking at one of these on Ebay today, on Thanksgiving, in flawless condition, for $19k. Seems reasonable.

You really cant compare an R spec Pani to an R6. The Pani has almost 2x the power, premier suspension/brake components, etc... R6 are great bikes, but that's like comparing a Ferrari 458 Speciale to a BMW M3.

The 08- 09 Honda CBR 1000 Has set faster laptimes on all the WSBK Superstock 1000 races, than the 2012 CBR 1000. Infact the 09 CBR has set almost exact record laptimes as the Panigale, and the HP4 and Hawasaki zx10 in 2013 in similar conditions in superstock trim. compare laptimes from 09 STK 1000 MAGNY COURS, PORTIMAO, BRNO. with those of 2012-13. Even though 2012 model is prettier it is also slower by 2.5 seconds a lap..

Correction. Correction!!!! FYI, the wheels on the "R" model are identical to the ones on the "S" model. there are no weight differences, so you know!!!

ask a local race-team, there are a LOT of good manufacturers that are much less expensive... my race bike has MVR-suspension, my previous one had Hyperpro, but also think about WP-suspension or HK suspension for example.. =)

Right now it's the fastest bike out the box. Comes with no restrictions so it gets a higher top speed compared to the 10r s1000 and the 14r. But that price can go to hell lol. Might be worth it though. And it's the lightest bike out in the 1000cc world. Based on what I read, the bike is 417 pounds wet! That's awesome! Kawasaki forever though.

There are tons and tons of good alternatives. Ohlins just has a real hold on the OEM market, it seems.

The reality is that the bikes in WSBK are so far from what you get in the showroom that the results are pretty irrelevant. It's more an indication of how well it's been adapated to WSBK level so far, and how well the team have done. Superstock racing is a far better indicator of the capability of the machines, and the Panigale is battling at the front in world superstock, as well as many of the national superstock titles.

damn with 30k i can get an 2012 r1 and expend 10k on a decent exhaust , brakes and suspension and still have some change for some green herbs :)

According to Rossi they wouldn't listen to him when he tried to tell them what was wrong with the bike. Too much pride in their own creation to admit any faults I guess. But when you're constantly on the losing end with a former multiple world champion on your team that should be enough to tell you that the bike isn't what it should be.

HAHAHA! :D 14r is a poser bike compared to this beast. Who gives a crap about straightline speed and overall peak hp when you get so much more with the Ducati? I'm quite confident that the 1199 will get you smiling and enjoying the riding much more, than what the 14r can ever offer (only top speed and comforting sport-touring) to you.

$5k for 16.5's + $450 for Pirelli Slicks + remove mirrors & extra bits = WSBK for $35k

Really? Show me 3 liter bikes you can get for $19k Kawa? zx $15K Yamaha R1 $14k Honda CBR $14k Suzuki GSXR $14k So unless you know some other Japanese brands that make some outstanding Superbikes I don't know about you can get 1 Japanese bike and a nice exhaust, and maybe some ridicules paint….. Ohh and since we talk about the Panigale R that is $30k, still not 3 times your Japanese bike. So yes the Panigale is expensive but not 3 times the price. And to be honest the looks so much better…..
