I paid 6.2k for mine and I love it and for the price. It was a steal! It's good at everything you need it to be, and its fun to suprise people on the highway.

To answer your question at the end, the Regal GS was brought to the U.S. from Europe. It's literally an Opel/Vauxhall Insignia VXR with Buick badges. I suspect they didn't bring the turbo V6 option because of emissions and costs associated with it.

Buick is like the BMW of China if that makes any sense. Having a Buick doesnt mean you're balling out but it certainly means you're at least making more than the average guy. Chinese people see American cars as luxurious and cool. People in China who have a lot of money to blow will import ridiculous shit like F650s, H1 hummers, and Ford GTs to stand out as much as possible, sometimes they dont even go through the paperwork to make them road legal they'll just keep then in their 20 car garage as a spectacle.

I find it funny that a rebadged european Insignia is the single best looking American sedan of the 2010s. Despite not having a VXR equivalent with the 2.8 and AWD, having a manual turbo Buick is a decent compromise.

@@vtecgoesbwah 2 years later, how’s the steering feel on that thing? Does it feel really heavy in corners or does it actually whip around nicely without too much front end plow? Was looking at these but ended up buying a ‘12 Jetta gli 6 speed about a year and a half ago

@@grantmills4184 it’s actually a proper car in that way. The power helps take it around the corners, and the steering feedback is honest. Little to no torque steer and easily can handle back roads with a breeze. Highway driving was my favorite, it was so comfortable and had literally no wind noise. Buick did a great job on this car, unfortunately i sold mine. But it’s in someone’s hands who respects it and i guess that’s all we ask for.

@@justydoyle6420 so I see, yeah that sounds pretty nice honestly. Especially it being a fwd car with minimal torque steer. And riding nicely on the highway too is a plus

Omg THANK YOU BRO!!!! I test drove one today and I thought it was just me!!! I literally have every single gripe with this car that you have from clutch to parking brake to push button on a manual…but I love the way it drove. I still might get the car though lol 😂but it’d definitely take some getting used to.

It’s always interesting for me as a German to watch an American reviewing an European car, especially like in this case when he doesn’t even know that it is European. It’s a Buick, right? It says „Buick“ on the rear, front and the steering wheel at least. So it must be a Buick!? Wrong! And a little bit of research would have cleared the case that this is an Opel Insignia. Completely engineered and built in Germany, that’s why it feels so „weird“ to this no doubt professional car reviewer. Apart from the buggy infotainment system. That’s exclusive for Buick. To say it clear… Most Americans don’t really understand European cars. GMs ownership of Opel proofed this on many points over the last 90 years. GM often had to much influence on Opels, given since they were the head until 2017. But products often were something like this Regal. Something which doesn’t really fit anywhere in the world for most people. Me personally, I like the GM Opels. I think they are good looking, have a nice handling and overall feel to drive. But not everybody is a fan of it. Opel even does much better now, since it’s with Peugeot Citroën. They are far better with understanding what Europeans really want and don’t try to sell their cars to ill-informed Americans who think they bought a Buick, a real American car.

@@letsgotomarsmanwhat? It’s a good point. As an American, it makes me sad how easily misled our consumers are. The Euro GM cars and especially the Aussie GM cars were ostensibly the best cars that GM put out over the years, apart from things like the Camaro, Corvette, and the late 00s+ Cadillacs. However, people rarely appreciate these cars, since they either don’t know them or they think “they are just crappy, boring American cars”.

Strange to hear the buick isn't available with 4wd. In europe we even had an sportive 'OPC' version with an 300/350 (I think) horsepower V6 and 4wd and an top speed of 270km/h. It kind of was an AMG (W204) killer at the time.

0:59 "my own personal Pontiac G6 has and ecotec" I wouldn't admit to owning a G6 bro, they're econo box chick cars for college girls on a budget or the kind of car to own if you smoke eagles, work a part time job a Walmart, drink only mountain dew, receive EBT, have some sort of drug problem and live in a trailer park (at least thats who owns them around here). Sorry but they're just not cool cars lol.
