A friend of mine crashed his recently. It truly is a monster of a car and is incredibly tail happy. Definitely underrated car.

I have a stock 2013 M6 and at no point in my ownership have I thought to myself, "what this car needs is more power". That being said, it is an absolute beast and he understated how amazing the DCT is. The best way to drive one if you are just be bopping around is economy mode for the engine and suspension with the DCT cranked up to sports plus. The throttle isn't as touchy, in sport plus anything over 1/4" of added throttle will make you jump forward. It's great but it takes a lot of constant attention to keep smooth especially if you have a passenger. Thanks for the review even if I just watched to feel cool about my car.

Oil sensor failing as mine did. Ran out of oil, sensor failed, write off. Got a Tesla model 3 now but my god do I miss the 6. A lot of car for the money.

Wow what a quality review. Expected you had a lot more subs. Been looking at this car recently and its such a beaute. I belive its too powerful for a 20 yo newer driver, but this is something I will look at in the future. And you are spot on with the ageless design, it looks brand new, and could easily fit in with newer cars even 10 years from now.

@@Antimatter. Car is lowered on H&R Sport Springs and there is a 3mm spacer in the rear. I don't believe there is anything else that has been done.

The face lift headlights makes the vehicle look more modern, but then again I might be biased lol.

Thank you! During that clip, I had just cold started the car after it had been sitting all night. Likely just condensation, once warm it went away entirely.

Do you know what size the wheel spacers are in the back? 335s are so wide I’m surprised he had the room. Looked fantastic tho. Like to do that with mine.

The owner installed the downpipes himself. And you will not pass smog in California if you are running catless downpipes.

Couldn't agree with you more about the ZF 8 speed. While it's good, it's still a torque converter and just doesn't have the direct feel of the DCT. The ZF is fine in a certain type of car but enthusiasts like myself will always pick a dual clutch if they can't have a manual.

Really nailed it on the explanation! The DCT just has that satisfying snappiness that cannot be replicated with the ZF8.

How to attain?

I am going on ny 3d m6 and after test driving a mustang gt i literally went right back to my third m6 as dct is the ultimate in shifting prowess was going to go m8 but they lost the dct also the styling is not as timeless as the m6 even the interior is inferior not just the styling of the interior but for example, the leg extension is power in the m6 and manual in the m8 something small but it illustrates a small drop in value in my opinion that permeates throughout the car!

I had a 2016 lci, I still can't find a car that would be "better". The F series M6 has the craziest 2 personality of ultimate luxury gt and supercar performance. Tip - this car sucks stock, so if you're not going to do a full valvetronic exhaust and at least a baby tune then buy something else, supercar aspect is very tame stock

What years of the M6 have the hydraulic steering rack?

I believe all years of the M6 received hydraulic power steering. The last model year for the M6 was 2019.

Reliability was good overall for the owner, however it's important to note that he was very particular with maintenance. Frequent oil change intervals, preventative replacement of spark plugs, coil packs, etc. These backroads are located near Palomar Mountain!

It's a sweet car, but a different experience from an F82. I would recommend test driving one and determining whether the car is right for you or not.

If u don’t need awd the m6 is definitely the best deal under 40k but if u live in an area where u need awd the 2014-2016 e63s amg is the best deal under 35k

As a German, I have a question. How high are the maintenance costs for such a car in the USA? I keep noticing that, on the one hand, cars in the USA are advertised by their price. On the other hand, these are cars with a lot of horsepower and a set of tires would cost a fortune in Germany. All wear parts would cost more in relation to models with smaller engines. The same goes for insurance and tax. Do Americans not worry about such things, or is it so much cheaper in the USA?

Sales tax rates are based on the local county that you live in here in California. So for example my county's sales tax rate is 7.75% and this is what you would pay for tax based on the purchase price of the vehicle. Maintenance can be costly of course, this owner knew how to do most of the maintenance himself which saved a lot of money. Here in Southern California, there is an abundance of high performance shops that specialize in exotic and European cars, so thankfully it promotes competition and helps to keep maintenance prices somewhat reasonable.

Under 40k for one with anything over 65-75k miles All I see is 55,000 plus for a good example coupe

Just for cost of maintenance and overall reliability I'd go with the RCF instead

Under 40k? These go for over 70k in Finland. You can barely afford a 650i for under 40k. Wish I lived there instead lol.

When I said golden era, I was mainly referring to exterior design. Sound is entirely subjective, but the unrefined, raw exhaust note of this car is incredibly unique and sounds great with a proper exhaust setup in my opinion.
