If you like this video, there are more to look forward to. I found these gems in some old DVD I bought back in the day. I am trying to deliver them in high of resolution as possible. I am also going to redo my old PRO Racquetball Videos. The original quality was 480p. My goal is to upscaled them to at least 720p.

This was such a cool era, a group of manufacturers still investing in the sport (pk, ektelon, head, gearbox, etc.) Tennis channel us open and great camera work. Nationals at fullerton with the glass court....2012 was a good year

What happened to the sport? Hard to believe pickleball killed it, it was already niche...checking in here after 10-15 years away, very bizarre how it's fallen off? Or seemingly?

Some of the best camera footage I've seen of a high level pro match in a very long time. Much appreciated!!

Glad you liked it. I love listening to the players with mics. Around the 24:48 mark, Rocky was told to shoot the ball even if there is a hinder basically. Then he replied, "shoot him in the but" with the ball?

@@wolfmanracquetball Usually if you're getting say a back wall setup, with plenty of time, then you expect your opponent to jump and you should always swing away and shoot the ball (in A level or above). But this wasn't one of those cases, it was a funky situation, Rocky was polite to hold up (the safe thing to do) ....and that should have been an automatic winning of the rally (penalty hinder) for Rocky. Bad call to only give a replay for a high level match like this. Very bad call. At my club we would call a penalty hinder even in a practice game cuz you got to learn the rules even when its not a tournamanet.

@@rbaddict2947 I totally agree with you rbaddict. Rocky is a class act and should have been given a penalty hinder. We try to implement penalty hinders in our gym too, but there are too many folks that don't want to honor the "actual" rules or they would rather argue. Most of the time, we simply do a "replay".

@@wolfmanracquetball If you're playing with someone who constantly serves the ball in the middle of court, body blocks you and then get a replay whenever you have to hold up or worse when it force you to hit a shot you don't want to take, it becomes an unfair advantage. This is especially true if you are scrambling out of the way when you accidently put the ball in the middle of the court (which basically gives them an easy passing shot to end the rally) and they are instead just camping out when they do it. You'd be surprised how much the game changes when "these players" are forced to play by the rules. I know it's an uphill battle convincing old dogs new ways however. One thing you might be able to do is put up some photos of penalty hinders with the rules right on the court window (or next to it) so they get warmed up to the idea. Then it opens up a conversation about why it's important rule. You don't have to be nazi's. Once people start honestly begin trying to give the appropriate windows,(straight in and cross court pass), not serving the ball in the center of the court, then it's really not a big deal if you call them or not because it's all even-ing out. It's those guys that just camp out and don't watch behind them to see if they are in the way, that's what just ruins the fun for everyone.

You are speaking to the coir my brother! I need you to come to the hood and help me convince these cats to agree to it and stick to it when it comes to calling avoidables. One day after we played and had a heart2heart, we complained about folks and their avoidables. Then we made a pact to call it and honor it. That only lasted about a week. LOL. There have been many discussions and arguments regarding this matter. Some of my fellow vets literally can't move very fast, so I give them a lot more leeway.
