2012 Stella 4T 150cc The Genuine Scooter Company

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After reviewing different options of scooters, I decided to purchase a Stella 4T 150cc. Here is a quick run down of the scooter and my initial feelings. Shot using Action Life Media's mCam Lite and the iphone 4S.

    Was going to ask how you felt about your Stella experience a year later, but was able to find your answer in a comment! The dealership I checked gave me appreciated straight talk about unexpected complication of handling (ie: manual) and overall service when compared to the Buddy (out the door in 30 minutes vs "6 hrs" prep), however was happy to get it out his shop at a deal (showroom fees) if I was still all in. Thanks for the fantastic video - extremely thorough and insightful! Cheers!

    Nice looking scooter, I have had my Vespa Primavera 125 for about two years and really enjoy riding. It's made in India under licence from Vespa, so based on the older PX.

    Cool Cool , yeah ive had a Stella for about 10 years now , been through a blown engine ( upgraded to a 175cc , it's way better ) and all the small repairs they require . I ride it . I don't baby it and it's pretty beat but ever since I got the new motor about 6 years ago I haven't had any issues . Good to see scooters on the road . Man there's a lot of pickup trucks In Texas ! Great video bro! I love love love your color combo and added chrome features. That is classic all up and down. I have a buddy 125. I just bought it. I used to have a VIP 50cc and put a bunch of performance parts on it, which of course in the end I spent more fixing it than it was worth lol. For single riding I really enjoy the buddy, but the Stella is great if you have another person (or better IMO). Either way the Genuine brand is so much better and more reliable. I live in Vegas-daily driver

    sorry going post happy on your video, but last one and last question...how often do you have to adjust the throttle cables and all the little things? With old school Vespa's and similar scooters you need regular adjustments and maintenance. EZ-PZ stuff I'm talking about, but just seeing if you are doing that since you have had it for over a year now (talking every 3 months on the adjustments and maintenance)-Thanks

  • @SockyTX
    @SockyTX10 жыл бұрын

    I have not performed any mechanical adjustments to Stella. Only work I have done myself has been swapping tires/tubes from the rims and such. I do bring her to the shop for regular maintenance and tune ups. As far as adjustments I am on my 3 clutch cable. First one was replaced with an LML cable and the 2nd was replaced with a Piaggio cable 3K miles on that one so far. Again no adjustments made to the cable myself.

    I left another comment below about my buddy, but a few guys I know had the white walls taken off because they weren't as stable/sticky/whatever you want to say as the other black ones and life was shorter than the black ones that you can get. However, the white walls look amazing IMO so depends on what you want to sacrifice and since it sound like you are doing leisurely driving then good call with white walls

    Did you have any trouble installing the cowl protectors? I am looking to get some for my stella but didn't know how tough it'd be to install. Any drilling needed?

  • @SockyTX

    @SockyTX

    2 жыл бұрын

    The cowl protectors use a mounting plate in the rear which lines up with existing bolts. Same goes with the mounting location at the floor board ~ existing bolt location. For the front fender guard it is secured by tension bolts underneath.

    The 4 speed manual is the BEST and most unique transmission on the market. That's why you get 140 MPG (110) and not 70 mpg like on those STUPID one speed CVT like most other scooters have. You'll get 150 mpg on a flat road, travelling a constant 40 mph, riding by yourself... 8) GREAT SCOOTER !

    Plasticvideo- I now have 3500 on my Stella. She has been super reliable. Only problems have been: 1 the Sava's white walls wear fast my 1st rear tire was done about 2k but I like the look of em 2: my clutch cable snapped at 2500 miles no biggie. Pretty much just regular wear items. The scoot has been mechanically reliable and she performs to my needs throughout all gears. Top speed on the stock components is 63 indicated so probably more like 55 mph. I would recommend picking one up.

    Metal Zombie666 6 years later and I now have 14K+ miles on the same engine case, no performance mods. The stock muffler has cracked at 2 different spots multiple times (at the first pipe curve from the manifold and at the weld where it bolts to the bottom of the scoot). She fires on 1st/2nd kick every time, I don’t keep a trickle charge on her so the electric start doesn’t always have the juice it needs from the battery. She’s been a great scoot for me.

  • @BlackthorneBuilds

    It's called Genuine because that's the brand name. Genuine used to be Scooterworks until they started importing the LML star and rebadging it the Genuine Stella, which in point of fact is made in India in the exact same factory by the exact same company that was partnered with Piaggio to make the Vespa PX150 back in the 70s. If the PX150 is good enough for Europe, then the Stella should be too! They're almost 100% the same bike. ps- I own the 2-stroke version of this bike. Check my videos!

    Wow 28janya22 that so sucks! I have never heard of anyone having issues like you have. The Stella seems to be rock solid for the most part (except for this). However, it has the warranty so everything should be fixed by the dealer although Genuine doesn't sell retail so sounds like you have a big issue with the dealer here for the most part.

    "I don't want to get smeared by a vehicle.. because I'm in Texas" haha... I'm in Iowa and feel the same way. It's completely legal to ride under the limit on the highway, but I understand how the minds of people in jacked up trucks work. Any sign of weakness (riding a scooter) is a target for violence. That or they just run you over because they're drunk or not paying any attention. I came here to see what the 4T sounded like. Such a weird bike.

    The 2 stoke stella is actually slower off the line so ha ha j/k. PGO who was partnered with Vespa got their name from PiaGgiO. It is the same exact scooter sorry to say. My buddy has a Vespa and it has many of the same internal parts. Genuine doesn't use cheaper parts or anything. you talk like it is a Chinese knock-off. I'm glad you take pride in your scoot, but come on. Exhaust does need to be upgraded though I agree on that point, but a few hundred quid and good to go.

    How can you guys call it Genuine? It's made by LML an Indian copy of the Piaggio Vespa PX range. Stop powder coating a fake scooter. Plus it's a fuckin 4 stroke, if you want genuine like us Europeans, it needs to be a 2 stroke. It's a great scooter though but don't make it out to be genuine because its just not. The four stroke sounds so shit!
