2012 Dodge Durango Crew HD Video Review
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
drivencarreviews.com/ People aren't buying SUVs the way they did ten years ago but there are those who need them to haul their toys and traverse rugged roads. After leaving the market for a spell, Dodge Durango is back in a big way. Tom Voelk finds the third generation has got a lot going for it.

seriously this channel is the most wanted for me i never seen a channel talk about a car like this thank you very much for your hard working and also for you |Tom
A contribution. Expedition, Tahoe, Sequoia, Yukon and Armada/Patrol are F segment or full size and body-on-frame construction, while Durango (WD) and Explorer (U502), are E segment or large size, along with their direct rivals Traverse, Highlander, Acadia and Pathfinder (R52) are unibody.
My wife and I were looking at new SUV's/Crossovers for over a year. We looked at just about everything. We finally could agree on a 2012 Durango Citadel AWD with the Hemi. I'm in love with the car! There are so many great options on the car it makes other vehicles in it's category look like a joke. PLUS I can actually haul a decent sized trailer to boot!
Sorry for the delay. I don't give advice for so many different reasons but you're on the right track. Durango, Sequoia, and Tahoe would be good picks. If you're not towing you may not need the V8. Look at Traverse, Pilot, Enclave, Sorento, Explorer, Pathfinder and Highlander. They are more comfortable and fuel efficient.
@vonOhzu Kinda, but Honda is making due with five- speeds (without manual shifting) in some products and not many flag those as outdated. T & C and Caravan minivans have six speeds, 300 and Charger have just introduced an eight-speed. Considering where they started from two years ago, Chrysler's doing some interesting things in a hurry. I'm interested to see there lineup two years from now.
I like those little things being introduce-collapsing head rests, etc.
Good suggestion. Thanks!
@LeadHammer It's all computer generated including the "driver". Kidding. If it were only that easy. The guy you see most often is my friend Martin. It's a Saturday morning ritual, combining driving shots and coffee shots. A few other guys graciously help me as well. A lot of people would like to do it but there's actually a skill to it. On video you can spot a bad driver a mile away. Martin pops up every so often in the pieces. Check out the "Free Driven Hats" video.
Great review. Short and to the point.
So I have a Yukon Denali right now, and the lease is almost up, I was looking at the Durango or the Explorer as a replacement. Which one do you prefer? I have a lot of people in my household, so space is most important, along with driving dynamics and 4WD capabilities coming in as a tie for second. Thanks so much! I love your videos btw
Can you do a review 2017 Durango gt?
You don't have a clear choice? How do you plan on using it?
have a remote start engine, the crew edition on 2012?
I want to move out of a 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5 with a V8 engine. How does the 2012 Durango compare in terms of power and acceleration? I really like the "zip" highway acceleration that the 4Runner offers, but am having a LOT of trouble finding anything new priced under $40-45K that even has a V8. Test drove the Chevy Tahoe, but it rides and accelerates too much like a truck. I don't plan to do any towing or off-roading with this vehicle. Thanx!
Ty so much this was a big help
For 2013 the Crew has heated first and second row seats. The RT and Citadel have heated second rows with heated and ventilated first row seats.
Tom, could you fit any TP behind the third row? If so, how much?
Love this car, I want my mom to get one I love it.
tom which is better chevrolet tahoe or dodge durango because i want to buy one of them thanks
@Ugross2195 I don't recommend one car over another, it's too personal of a decision. My advice? Look at both videos (an Explorer piece is here too) for ideas on what to look at when you test drive. I'll say the Ford has a firmer suspension, a trick all-wheel drive selector but less towing capability. I like MyFord Touch others don't, others find the screen's lack of sensitivity annoying. Durango is more comfortable, tows more but doesn't have anything like Sync. Test drives are critical!
Watch at around 3:30 for your answer.
in my country there is an suv called toyota fortuner and it is : 1- 7 seater suv 2-powered by a V6 engine with 4.0 L 3- 238 HP - 270 F-LB OF TORQUE 4-and has alot of ground clearance
2014 at the earliest. Then you have 3-4 plus years so they can refine it into a working transmission. The 7 speed I believe will just be a modification/addition of the power bands in the current 5 speed. I own a 2011 Durango (Crew 5.7L AWD) and I can tell you the 5 speed isn't as bad as everyone says it is.
Nice truck
is it crew lux???
nice car but how much?
Nice thanks man
im really considering this truck as my next purchase, is there anyone out there who owns one and can give me their honest opinion on its reliability? i would greatly appreciate that.
@alexfp07 how about the ford explorer lol?
Why would they separate the ram trucks from dodge?
What about the Jeep Grand Cherokee?
those roof rack cross bar. Dodge should take cues from Subaru Outback. much better operation.

Love the toilet paper capacity test
Wait? Satellite tv... OMG XD But in all seriousness, this is probably one of the best SUV's good for heavy hauling and adult passenger comfort. Good to see that at least 1 company is making something still useful instead of forcing families and companies to buy into minivans and cramped light duty SUV's.
My remote start works for about 20 secs it worked fine before how do I fix this

What year?
@vonOhzu No. Also saying "worst thing" --> Nothing is bad about the car. Auto journalists snub this 5-speed but 7 years ago they praised it in the Mercedes. I found the 5-speed just as good as any 6-speed I tried out. I would have liked the brand new ZF 8 -speed in my durango for some fuel economy improvement but I would of had to wait until 2013 and probably pay a premium anyways.
Does it have Low Range transfer case?

yes but only on the v8 models they do and they also have hydraulic steering which is also you get when you get the 5.7 hemi and it is standard on the rt I think but the 2014s and up had eletronic steering.
dam very interesting car.....
He said seating for 7 otherwise it would be on the list.
-> The Fortuner is small (even compared to Toyota's own Highlander) in comparison to the Durango. And is not available in the North American market either...
Is it fair to say that the outdated 5 speed auto is the worst thing about contemporary Chrysler products?
Nice SUV, looks like good use of space and quality materials. But why would a company that's putting 8 speeds in a sedan offer up only 5 speeds in this workhorse? Even a 6 speed would significantly add MPGs and saleability....just saying.
i want : 1-7 seater suv 2-powerfull with V8 engine 3-good fuel consumption 4-reliable and tough suv 5-and to enjoy driving it thanks
No kidding! With that level of equipment list in a car, it would cost a 100,000$ in India. Must be due to importing.
the durango is hot....
i am a car guy! : )
@hernanbotbol1 I want to know that too LOL.
I have an explorer, and it's no girl truck. But I did know a lady who owned a dodge Durango! That thing was a girls truck.
Not really. The Expedition is an awfully large truck based vehicle.

I thought that was the excursion
Kinda dumb they did split up the brand
Oh yeah, it's a five seater. Sorry.
The Ford cant even tow enough. Dodge has more torque and HP.
@Ugross2195 Explorer is a girl truck.... ... Durango is a boy toy...
nice... but interior desing old like before 5 years... Japanese or European cars are better (Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW... ) :/
