It's the purge valve lmao don't top off the gas after the pump automatically stops

@@StarterTORTURE mine happened period not after gas if you drove it and let it sit for more than 5 minutes it wouldnt start, however sold it for 3,000

@@zach6822 That might be the engine coolant temp sensor, common issue

Most of the malibu electrical failures comes from the enginebay fusebox, the cupper lines under the fuses break because of heat and vibrations. The way to solve those issues like (no crank/nostart, dying while driving, etc.) can be fixed welding those broken lines (this broken lines are usually on the connectors and the 90° turns of the cupper lines). Materials: 7mm socket soldering iron and take a photo before quit all the fuses and relays. Dont forget to disconnect the battery also. Hope it works.

In the trunk there’s a relay center to the left and the fuel pump relay Is at the bottom right corner. It’s a four pin relay and if you unmount the box you look at the wiring of that relay Is a brown wire that becomes loose. I shoved a coke tab in there that i broke in half and I haven’t had a problem in six months. Took me six months to figure this out. I hope this helps

I’m having similar issue at the time of writing this. Although I I have not replaced the fuel pump. I’m afraid to replace the fuel pump if that is not the issue like you are having. Stupid cars man

I had a couple mechanics tell me it could be the timming variable sensor and Mass Air Sensor along with the throttle body of the engine be faulty or not good anymore and a code that read P0171 engine to lean something like that told me to replace some parts haven't down it yet but there could be some electrical and fuses not working but I checked and it all looks good I replaced some just incase they were worn out but that didn't fix the problem the problem is that it will crank but won't start all the way lmk in the comments on your guys opinion would be greatly appreciated 😊👍🏽

My car does the same thing I have to change the fuel relay on the fuse box in the trunk and it’ll crank up again then it’ll do it again malibu 2012 btw

My gas was low, I got the gas station, put in premium and drove it home, it cranks, but won't start, it has 160,000 on it. Driving me nuts. I bought a new thermostat, well the temp goes up and down, a/c works, and heat?

I replaced the fuel pump and the relay that didn’t help the problem.

My Car Just Literally Started Doing The Same Thing 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

I was driving mine on the freeway and as i was gonna accelerate, it seemed to die and started slowing down and the gas pedal was hard to push down. I also saw the tank meter go down when it was full and saw no leaks under the car. Idk what’s wrong with it.

Seen a vid about jus twisting the prongs on the fuel pump relay, guess it gets loose where it plugs in

Timing on that Malibu P0017 code I bet
