2012 - 2015 Volkswagen Passat Front Brake Service | B7 Passat Flip Car

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, I'm changing the brakes on this 2013 Volkswagen Passat. This includes removing and installing the rotors, pads, and all the accessories. I still need to install a new caliper on the right rear, so stay tuned for that video!

Nice job, thanks for explaining the cleaning and relubing procedure, a lot of videos omit that

I came here SPECIFICALLY to see if there was a trick to putting the caliper spring back on, and it looks like I was doing the correct procedure ("fiddle-f**k around with it for 15 minutes until you get it on") after all.

I think the torque on the caliper carrier bolts is wrong. Manual says 200 Nm. I ended up using 170 Nm + blue loctite. Also, I put lube on the slide pins like you, but one comment said no, because in this case the pins are not sealed, so brake dust will contaminate and turn it to muck. No mention of lube in service manual.

Before I push the caliper piston back, I'm going to remove some brake fluid from the master cylinder using a syringe. Is that a good idea to avoid any fluid spilling into the engine bay?

Worst camera distance and angle 🤦. I could draw the back of your head but I could barely see what you were working on.
