2012/2013 Tesla Model S 85kWh Performance Start Up, Drive, and In Depth Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! KZread's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the Tesla Model S Performance.
MSRP pricing for the Model S, before options, begins at:
*Including a $7,500 tax credit*
60kWh: $66,570
85kWh: $73,570
P85 Performance: $83,570
During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of KZread!

In reality every other car is a waste of money compared to this. I mean just look at this thing, an absolute work of art and true simplicity, there is no excess anything on this car, the shapes of the lights, the lines, the curves everything is sculpted to perfection, its super sleek, sexy as hell, awesome lights, the money you save with no gas, no smelly fumes, instant and highly addictive power, 17" touch screen, charge at home, what you get is like no other car. Tesla is the best car you can buy and the best car that exists. A truly practical and just overall amazing car. Makes all other cars look like a joke.

***** That may be true, but we got to assume that the american companies went through the 1990's to the 2010's with horrible cars. Of course, there are some exceptions here and there, but you need to remember Ford, GM and Chrysler almost went bankrupt during the 2008's crisis. And i bet part of that was related to the cars they were doing...

I'm inclined to agree with that but not going to pass judgment until i try it out. Also are the moreseldonly needed controls neatly hidden in a lower menu level than the frequently used controls? Not sure i like the way you have to power it down like a windows pc by going through a menu system. Perhaps the reviewer just didn't show us the shortcut method. Perhaps you just get out and lock the car. Don't think the web browser should be enabled when driving. Should use the landrover angle filter so web browser is only visible on passenger side when the car is in motion as that is really a distraction.

I am already driving a 3.5 ton truck cheaper then any of the hybrids or electric cars out there. For less then $10,000 for the total price of my truck. My cost per mile is less then 1 cent per mile and my range is 450 miles. The per mile cost of driving the Tesla Model S is about 9 cent per mile if you include the $12,000 battery cost every 160,000 miles plus 2 cent per mile for electricity. Not to mention my carrying capacity with my truck is 2 tons and towing capacity is about 3 tons all at the same time. I can carry 300 Gallons of FREE Veggie-Oil if I want to go Coast to Coast. In that case my range is 4200 Miles. But I can also collect Free Oil on the road. I have been driving on practically FREE-FUEL for 5 years and not polluting the environment at all. Saved about $60,000 on fuel in 5 years. If you are intrigued, check out my other channel veggiepower303 See the videos about the 4x4x4 White truck.

The most popular reason why people sell their cars is because it fails. With the dependability of the self-charging electric car (motor) and engineering, buying and selling should lessen.

What an incredibly innovative car this is. All the hype Tesla has received is well deserved. Many mainstream car makers can learn a lot from the Model S like the key & light functions. Too bad it comes only in a hatchback body & not a sedan. Also the interior design should've been sleek & innovative like the exterior & it definitely needs a proper full length center console. Maybe for the next gen?

If you say "throw a big V8 in there and i would like it" you are missing the point of the car. I too love big and loud v8's but if you really want a v8 luxury car similar to this, just go out and buy a Benz or a BMW. They didnt put a gas engine in this car for a reason.

@ Jose, You are "ol' fashion", I have driven my Model S for a year and just had to drive a Ford Explorer and believe me, The Tesla is much easier to operate and much more intuitive.@toxik217 The A/C and Radio can both be accessed from the steering wheel thumb controls and the Tesla is the Safest car ever created, so if safety is your thing then, you are making huge compromises driving anything but a Tesla. Ownership is the only way you will ever know this to be true, however.

Gary Guest Dude i love the model S. The fact that you like driving a huge touchscreen that i btw love and would only want a few buttons to feel just proves that opinions differ. What matters is that we all share a common goal, that of evolutions of cleaner cities and cheaper means of transport. This are just minor differences and each brand will add it's own twist to the mix...

Every modern car is a computer. It doesn't matter, if you buy a bmw m5 or a Tesla S, because if you asked a hacker to hack any of these cars, they would be both equally easy to hack (You can only hack a computer system). You probably are driving a computer right now.

theproweb Yes, but charging electric cars takes several hours and people sure enough don't want to sit around at a gas station for that long, just waiting for their car to be charged. Even if they installed charging stations at every gas station, and even if there were a lot more electric cars out there, very few people would charge their car at a gas station, but rather at home, over night. As for long trips ... well, electric cars just don't work as long range vehicles, unless they have some kind of range extender on board, like a gas engine that works as a power generator and recharges the battery on the go.

  • @theproweb

  • @usercode01

Combustion engines and Electric engines have very different costs in term of maintenance. And the BMW has both. Besides, the BMW i8 is nearly 2x more expensive than the Tesla. So, whatever you are saving in gallons (and electric engines are 'cleaner', no matter what) by buying the i8, you are spending on the car itself and its components later. The math, as you may noticed, is not that simple. And tesla is likely to be a safer car. Likely, but not for sure.

  • @amonamarthrules1742

user code nineone Of course, the BMW i8 is a BMW after all,and is very luxurious on the inside. But still,BMW and Mercedes have always lead the market in terms of safety and luxury and performance,so there is no way this car is safer than the i8,so the costs do add up.It is a sports car, after all.

Amon Amarth Rules i'm not sure about the safety, man...Tesla has more structure protection, made using heavier materials, the batteries plate at the bottom of the car grant it a nearly zero probability of overturning, because of the weight it adds, making the center of gravity very low, the "space" left by no engine at the front grant more impact area to absorb energy before hitting the driver and passenger areas, in case of frontal collision, and it has all the common features of safety that you expect from a car of that price range (airbags, ABS, ESP, EBD, all the letters). And IIHS's small overlap crash test has obliterated the ratings of all "higher safety" vehicles on the market, including BMW's. I do choose the i8 over Tesla anytime, but i'm not sure it is a better car. Tesla had some problems with batteries overheating that need to be addressed, but those are isolated cases, and in most times the car "told" the driver that there was a problem with batteries cooling system, and he should not drive, but the driver choose to drive anyway.

i like the tesla, I went to the Tesla store to have a look at it, i thought the door handles were strange but in reality they are very nice and solid, interior is very nice, Rims look good. I think this is an amazing car, the public are not ready for it. the pubic are not ready to step outside their comfort zone. personally i like the *NEW* generation of electric cars the likes of bmw i3, tesla., the Torque is almost instant.Acceleration is very good, but thats just me, i'm always open to trying new things, but not everyone is like that. most people will say they hate it because it has no petrol engine, just because they are not willing to step out of their comfort zone. my opinion anyway.
