Very few people appreciate how dangerous this routine is. While the topple of soldiers at the end is slow, if the girl in front of you isn't placed just right, the tallest girls at the end can get seriously hurt. My aunt, Gloria Natale, who danced with the Rockettes for a decade, broke her hip when the girl in front of her shifted her weight. That is why they added the pillow at the end and the male supporter. the routine is still a show stopper 70 years later.
