2011 NBA Finals Game 4 Q4 Breakdown

Ойын-сауық

AOH’s breakdown of Game 4, Q4, of the 2011 NBA Finals. I’m going to do all the periods of all the games, but decided to start here.
This is even worse than I remember. I can’t believe sports analysts don’t talk about this more. This is truly an epic failure. Poor Dwayne Wade was busting his ass out there, having to go up for multiple miracle blocks on help defense thanks to LeBron always getting burned.
Anyone remember the name of the guy who was guarding LeBron? I’ll give ya a minute… DeShawn Stevenson. Yep. 6’5 DeShawn Stevenson. LeBron shut down by someone you’ve never heard of.
And burned by a guy you might not have heard of except for how badly he burned LeBron. Jason Terry. All 6’2 185 of him.
LeBron got caught in the air with the ball twice, one led to an embarrassing turnover, the other time Dwayne Wade saved him.

D Wade was CLEARLY better than lebron up until 2011 and then he took a back seat to lebron in 2012 so lebron could be maximized by the team. Lebron should of taken a back seat to Wade, but if lebron isn't the focal point he is useless as we see here smh. He costed Wade a ring and finals mvp smh. He also has had his fan boys diminish Wades legacy. I remeber when we used to say Wade was a top 3 SG of all time back in 2012. Lebron has to be the most overrated athlete of all time. Everything about him is overrated. His defense, his IQ, his offense, his passing, his rebounding, his clutchness. Is there anything about him that is underrated? Lebron is definitely that kid who would take his ball and go home if things werent going his way. Basically stop playing defense on me and let get a wide open lay ups. I'm sorry but this guy isn't top 10. He only won because he stacked the deck and had help from the refs as well. Without that he Would be ringless like James harden. Keep up the great work AOH 💪🏾. This was another surgical breakdown

That’s a bit much. Clearly part, I mean. Dwyane Wade actually caught a lot of NBA people off guard with how quickly he was able to be impactful, he also was like 2 to 3 years older than everybody in his draft class. I’d give 2006 to Wade due to more maturity and polish. Plus having an actual midrange jumper that murked the Mavs that Bron struggled with 5 years later. And in 2007 Wade was definitely better and was the best player in the league before throwing his shoulder out averaging 28/8/8 and then another injury riddled 2008. 2009 I’d personally give a slight edge to Wade even though LeBron won MVP. And this was when Kobe, LeBron and Wade were all on the same tier post Olympics. Kobe was now in his late prime and physical abilities were starting to become reduced and no longer was definitively the best player in the league as he was 2004 - 2008. D-Wade was at his peak. And Bron was entering his prime. I’d say 2010 they were neck and neck. Which is funny though because Dwyane Wade performed much better and with less help against the 2010 Boston Celtics defense that gave both late prime Kobe and early prime LeBron fits. I’d say 2011, they were neck and neck as well. Wade had a poor ECF against Chicago. He always seemingly struggled against, whether it was Kirk Hinrich’s underrated defense giving him issues in the late 00s. Or in that Conference Finals. And then we obviously know how LeBron totally shit the bed even worse for Miami in the Finals. I think D-Wade came to the realization that in order to win he had to feed LeBron’s ego and ball dominant style to maximize his abilities and motivations, Wade was mature and realized he had to take a back seat statistically and stylistically and play more off the ball. And he worked more on his post game. Which is really what allowed Miami to win. Because if he didn’t do that and they continue to play in the turnstile as they did in 2011, I don’t see them winning against even the young Thunder (even with the sus officiating) or the Spurs. He’s really the unsung selfless hero of that entire Heat era where Bron got the glory. Even in 2013, with his body, starting to break down, D-Wade had the biggest game on the road in SA in Finals game 3. And if you paid attention to the series, LeBron didn’t much of his stat accumulation after games have already been decided. He did the same thing in the 2014 finals when they got curb stomped, and by that point Wade’s body was a shell of itself. Would inspire LeBron to cowardly bolt on his “friend” without telling him ahead of time that summer. I feel bad D-Wade calls him a friend tbh. Dude didn’t even show up to his Hall of Fame induction. SMH

I was 19 that year. Remember it vividly, and this is a completely 100% accurate breakdown of how the events unfolded, although you still have to watch the full games to truly appreciate how awful LeBron showed himself to truly be. One thing i will say is EVERY time a LeBron team has been beaten in the playoffs, the winning team has also had to beat the officiating. This even goes all the way to last year where the Nuggets had to hit every miraculous shot to win those games. Would be interesting to see an officiating breakdown of each of those playoff series.

He's repeatedly stuck in no mans land in this game. Not close enough to the basket to box anyone out or attempt to get the rebound. And on defense he's always a step behind which leaves him guarding no one and his teammates have to pick up the slack. On offense he's a step behind too. Not reacting fast enough to the double team and passing out of it. Or not attacking fast enough when he has an opening. He looks lost. It shows he never needed to give effort before. He coasted on his natural talent and never worked to improve his game. He thought stepping on the court was enough. It's weird that someone played middle school, high school, and 7 years in the NBA and was still acting like this.

Honestly, I don't judge a great player by him missing shots, or making shots. What rubs me the wrong way about Lebron is the lack of effort, the antics when things don't go his way, and the way he carries himself. He quits. At least take some shots, and move with or without the damn ball in your hands!!! It's not just about having a bad series. If the Mavericks were just shutting down Lebron, contesting most of his shots, and making life difficult, that's one thing, but it's completely different when you don't even show up and give it your all. There were a ton of opportunities for Lebron to at least try to take advantage of, but he didn't. One thing I have noticed about Lebron over the entire course of his career is that he is a front-runner. The only time I have seen Lebrons teams come back from a deficit is when they have another spark on their team whether it was Bosh, Wade, Ray Allen, Kyrie, Love, or other guys. I have never seen Lebron pull his team out of a rut when the offense, or defense is spuddering. That's what guys like MJ, and Kobe did. Whether their shots were falling, or not, they usually did everything in their power to pull their team out of a hole, and never stopped giving every ounce of effort they had in their body and mind. If their shots weren't falling, they would rebound the ball, play defense, force turnovers, score on hustle plays, and facilitate. They would keep pressing the issue until their shots finally did start falling for them. That's why they won so much more, and that's why they put the fear of God in their opponents hearts.

He's not even in the top 50 players of all time. A stat padder that's been allowed to rim run uncontested for 20 years. He would have been a mediocre player in the 90s. And wouldn't have started on several teams. A 6th man at best.

But you are in complete delusional hater territory saying he's not top 50 or just a 6th man level player. All you are doing is trying to make yourself feel better about disliking him at that point. Which is weird. You shouldn't have to show that much insecurity about your opinion on him to exaggerate it that much if you were actually confident on your opinion on him. Stop it. You are undermining REAL criticisms of his game and his over praise by his fans when you do that.

IF we are talking just about basketball. Of course, this series right here was probably the low point of his career, if you judge him based on just this he isn't top anything. He did have many other playoff runs and finals series where he was a lot better, especially a pretty phenomenal series against the Warriors. Personally I would have him behind both MJ, Bird, Magic and Kareem, and maybe behind Kobe and Duncan. But that's about it.

I've always hated how people try to change history so much around Dwayne Wade. He was an amazing player. And people act like he never was good at all. Why? As AOH said, to make Lebron seem better than he is. That simple. In that Heats team, it was Wade the Bosh as the best on that team and watching the games it's so obvious. Let’s not forget this Dallas team swept the defending champs in Kobe and the Lakers in the semis and beat KD in his prime in the WCF. Everybody calls this the Lebron ‘choke’ but isn’t it more likely he just doesn’t live up to the hype and got exposed by Dirk in his prime and a veteran team who had a score to settle with Miami? A perennial playoff team of real alpha males who put in yeoman’s work, playing basketball the right way beating an overhyped overrated bunch of girly man pretenders (Wade being a minor exception, imo he wouldn’t have beat the Mavs in 06 without Shaq and we’ve all heard the rumors about how he gets down) The disrespect to Dirk’s legacy - a real working class hero type player - spent his whole career with one team and even took multiple paycuts to stay in Dallas is irritating - he went to battle year after year in a stacked Western conference with Duncan/Kobe/KD/Steve Nash etc - he was the anti Lebron. It's never talked about how bad lebrons stance on defense has been his whole career even now he's always hopping and crossing his feet. All the good defenders SLIDE their feet. It's defense FUNDAMENTALS which he lacks. Its crazy no coach has taught him that.

AOH…….you’ve really PISSED ME OFF!!! Not because of your EXCELLENT video but bringing back the memories of the angst, frustration & anger I felt towards LeBust James during this series. It was this game that I realized that he was mentally soft and didn’t belong in the class of elite competitors. I feel like @SportsAndFitnessRants….we got to hold these people accountable and to a standard of Excellence otherwise they will run our sport (and society) into a sh*thole. It’s so obvious now that they have been pushing this FAKE as$ Lebron NARRATIVE down our throats just like they’re trying to condition us to eat bugs (World Economic Forum). I hate to bring politics into this space but I think this Lebron thing is all part of a greater narrative at play here. EYES OPEN. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT work AOH. Thank you 🙏🏾.

The great thing about Lebron playing as long as he has is that if he retired a few seasons ago he’d never be exposed for the fraud that he truly is. During Miami’s championship run when Shaq and GP were there DWade was arguably the 2nd best 2 guard in the league behind Kobe but there was nothing Lebron could learn from a Finals MVP and league leading scorer. Lebron is a clown.

The 2011 Dallas Mavericks team was fundamentally sound defensively. No easy layups for lebron. They would have made him earn his points at the free throw line. 2024 Marvericks and the entire NBA would have cleared the paint for Lebron to get an easy uncontested basket.

I remember that Dallas team utterly dismantling my Lakers that year. They were an utterly fantastic team that deserved to win it all. I also remember having the conversation with a fellow friend I grew up with and whom I watched (MJ) dominate the league with throughout my entire life. He, a PhD in physics, who had grown up like me, watching Jordan, attempted to make the argument that Lebron James was the goat, ( an argument he still holds today, [ yes he has a PhD]. I had to explain to him that the difference is really simple. Lebron was scared shitless every time he touched the ball, you could smell it from 2000 miles away. There was not a SINGLE time I can ever remember Jordan being even remotely hesitant to take the game over or take the winning shot. I told him to watch what happened to Lebron and how he simply wasn't cut from the ilk of MJ, he has no killer instinct, no ability to finish, and is OBVIOUSLY scared. That alone separated them forever. Today the comparison is so laughable that it's verging on pandemonium of insanity. You're so right about Wade's legacy being ruined by LBJ. Wayde was utterly incredible. You can see how pissed off he is at LeBron in one of those clips where he slams the ball between his hands. I too am surprised he hasn't come out against how shitty Lebron was. I knew after the Mavericks destroyed my Lakers that they were going to dismantle the heat. I had forgotten about the mocking cough bullshit. What a bunch of fucking children. I tried really really hard not to hate LBJ, but holy shit. He is easily the most over-rated athlete in human history. Thanks ABC/ESPN!!!

Hell there are so many young kids named Kobe, Coby, Cobee, and many other variations of the prototype “Kobe”. Lebron has been playing for 20+ years and I haven’t heard about any young Lebron’s.
