    Thanks for this video. I changed my bulb in about 15 minutes thanks to your tips. I didn't know about the black ring that locks the bulb in place and last time I just forced it out. This replacement was much easier after taking out the air filter housing. Really appreciate it.

    Every other video on this skipped the LOCKING tab... I was fighting this damn thing for WAY longer than needed... got to 4:40 on this video, ran out to the truck and voila... DONE! You rock!

    Watched at least 10 videos on this subject. This one is by far and away the absolute Best on releasing the bulb. The rest don't show it. Thank YOU for taking the time to do it correctly. The price per bulb here from the dealer was $314. Plus $150 each for installation. Bought. 4 bulbs for $ 70 online. Saved $800+- by doing (attempting it) myself. Weak fingers and no knowledge about the black button has made this difficult. Arthritis ain't helping. But being retired means I've got the time to putter.

    Out of all the videos I've seen on how to actually get the bulb out, this one was the most helpful. I didn't want to spend money on labor if I could avoid it, so thank you!

    Great video. I tried to replace with Halogen lamp not realizing my car had HID. And had to yank out the bulb using all my might not knowing that there was the tab on the side to turn like you showed on your video. There was no way to directly see it and couldn't place the old bulb back in. After watching your video I turned the tab and was able to put it back in. My existing bulb has D3S model number so I ordered a pair of those on Amazon and will install when it arrives. Now I know how to take the bulb in and out of the socket it should be easier. Thanks for your video. Mine is on passenger side but your method of access seems much easier for drivers side than some other videos.

    The hemi is easy to do on both sides but, the pentastar is more difficult to get to on the passenger side HID.

    Guys I received a quote from the dealership to replace 1 bulb for $485!!! Ridiculous!! So I watched this video and decided to do it myself. I bought the bulb on Amazon for $65. I read one of the comments and someone said you can access this through the wheel well. That is absolutely true. I did it through the wheel well and it’s much faster.

    Access the bulb from the wheels side is much easier that's why there is a hole in the cover between the engine and the wheel.

    Thanks for the video, it was extremely helpful. The tags have not been mentioned in a lot of other 'how to'. One comment for those below saying there is easier access via the wheel well, how small are your hands? I am a tall person with large hands, I asked a smaller neighbour to try and he could just reach the lamp housing, but could not do anything due to the very limited room from this location.

    I don't get it everyone one say's Remove the Bulb but ( 5:04 Detail of the Bulb) , don't show the detail of how to release the Bulb from the wire Connector. Don't you think that would be something to show. LOL ( 5:11) Remove the Clip just how is that done, would been a nice thing to show in the video.

    Thank you...hey everyone ..there are a lot of good videos out there on this topic. However tailgatetalk has they key...and that is the two plastic wings (at 4:18) that if turned slightly conterclockwise bingo the bulb is released and pulls out. nobody explained it in these simple terms. Remember to lock back in. If following this video it should be a 30 minute job.

    You can access the bulb much quicker and easier than this guy. Turn your wheel hard to the right and you'll see a rubber sealed access panel. Just pull that out then reach your hand into the gaps till you've reached the bulb you needed the rotate to loosen replace bulb then reinsert and you're on your way

    Good tip. My arms must be too short, fat, or unable to contort enough to use the access panel. I posted this because it's easy to disassemble and go in topside for the same result. Thanks for watching and adding your knowledge.

    This is a crazy late reply but the Overland edition 2011 WK2 is the first to introduce HIDs as nighttime lights, that being said, the base editions still used Halogen for night and they positioned the wheel well access point and size based off the base Laredo/ Limited Jeeps. It makes replacing the HID bulb really inconvenient.

  • @PCPAyLOAD
    @PCPAyLOAD3 жыл бұрын

    This is absolutely NOT the way to do this! Just go through the access panel in both wheel wells right in front of both tires. Thats what those round twist off panels are for, changing lights. Super easy guys don't waste your time this guy obviously never looked at the owners manual.

    Maybe if someone has hands the size of an 8-year-old. Otherwise, that wheel well access hole is too small.
