2011 Buick Regal Review - the Regal takes GM's old man brand in an all-new direction

Back in 2007 Buick unveiled the Enclave crossover and the brand embarked on a quest to reinvent itself. With new styling, the LaCrosse pushed the envelope further, adding improved interior trim quality, while still retaining the brand's big-as-a-boat-and-feels-like-one-too drive quality.

@flip92 It's not that badly priced actually. A similarly equipped accord would be in the same price range and the regal looks quite a bit better imo.

@robertkurt2 In Europe for example a Passat 2.0 TDI with 170 hp has 258 or a BMW 335d with 286 hp has 428 or an Audi A6 3.0 TDI with 313 hp has 480 pounds foot of torque. If you need torque you have to buy a diesel. :)

I think the review is a bit nit picky...plastic on the steering wheel center? I own the new Regal. I don't touch the center of the wheel so I couldn't care less. And the leather feels fine to me. Nicer than on the BMW 3 series I traded in for the Regal (and THAT sure wasn't world class, or as classy as the regal).

@robertkurt2 and they seem to catch up in power as well. Because I remember in 1995 a golf diesel was as slow as a car can get. Today I had an opportunity to drive this new audi (asked a dealer if can take one for a spin :) ) and I was blown away by the performance it delivers. One german car magazine called grip tested this audi in a race between a Porsche 911 and this audi this. Audi won! And I forgot something this diesel sounds like a V8... IT IS SO WRONG!!!!

The comment was made that the turbo version has 250 foot pounds of torque and that its more than any V6 has. 2011 Camaro with the 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 has 278 foot pounds of torque ........Pontiac G8 base level sedan with the 3.6 V6 has over 270 2004-2007 Grand Prix GTP 3.8 V6 has 290 foot pounds of torque. So tell me again that the turbo version of this grand parent bingo grocery getter has more torque than any V6 out there.

I'll stick with my 2002 Regal LS with 300,000+ miles over this alleged advancement.
