I owned Buick Verano 2012, and I just bought it 9 months ago at 59,000 mileage. As I speak, I’m faced with similar issue with my transmission control module (TCM). I took it to two dealerships, but they only blowed my budget without having any positive impact on my car. An hour after picking my car from both dealership, the problem came back as never before. SAD! I love this car, but by the day, I’m losing hope in GM products. I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy GM products, from personal experience.

@@willy4209 Same thing with my 2012. TCM was a recall in 2016. Trans out at 80,000 miles. Warranty out. $5, 000. Repair. Still not running right

What about shutting it off in neutral and restarting it while coasting?

My 2017 Buick did this to me too. I was trying to get on the highway at the time with my children in the car.

I have a 2011 regal and it has 140,00 and I never had any issues but I think it may be something wrong now had it for 4 hrs so not too bad

I have a 2011 as well, as soon as it hit 50k miles my transmission went out. One thing that will give you a heads up is if your slowing down you'll notice right at 36mph it down shifts really hard. I have multiple issues with this vehicle including, strong exhaust smell, stabilitrak on dash sensor, multiple pulleys replaced, etc. I still own it, but still going through problems even after a lawsuit with GM. It's a very bad car. At times it does not accelerate on time,

Mine also does a hard downshift when going below 40 mph. But it only does it when the vehicle is been driving around for awhile and getting hot.

I have a 2017 Buick envision it won’t accelerate half the time. Sometimes I get this hard jerking feeling it feels like it’s coming from the back area of the car.

I have a 2014 Buick Regal GS similar issues. Drive I manual. Also check your ignition coils.

I also own a 2011 Regal but it only has 47000 right now so....... looking forward to this issue. Yikes!

Worth to fix it? I’m at 170,000 miles

Mine went at 201,000. Shop had trouble with the rebuild.

Did you fix the transmission what was the problem cause my 2011 just did the same thing

Nico Dominguez they weren’t able to fix it. The problem only started happening AFTER I paid over $5,000 to replace the transmission at the dealership. Totally got screwed! Do you still have the original transmission?

I have no transmission problem But, my car was stalling and shutting off.. it was the ecm (engine control module a $6-700 dollar (new). Purchased my ecm at a wrecking yard for $65 buck. Afterwards took my car te get the new/old ecm reset... for a wopping $258.00

so what caused the problem with that transmission every time he hasn't stopped the car and started back up and reset it

You can actually put the car in neutral and shutdown the engine and restarting it while still in neutral..that’s if you can’t come to a complete stop

Had this same issue. Had to get a whole new transmission.

You can reset it by putting it into tricktronic by moving the shifter to the left

Great cars guys, but I knew when GM let Ford do anything with their cars it was gonna be problems!...however it's an easy fix my 2010 Buick lacrosse cxl did the same I bought a solenoid repair kit on ebay for $20 and a new gasket from the stealership for $8 and no more probs!...I did the repair in my driveway in less than 45mins...

Transmission shift solenoid

It sounds like the solenoid. I have a 2014 Buick regal all-wheel-drive turbo. I’ve had it now about 3 1/2 years I bought it with about 20,000 miles on it give or take. Once it hit 50,000 miles everything started going, it felt like just after everything was covered by warranty that’s when I had all my problems. There was an oil leak in the engine that cost me $2700 to fix, I still don’t know what caused it. Just after my warranty ran out my air conditioner wasn’t working still not working. The air will blow but it’s warm and it’ll get cool about 20 minutes maybe half an hour after I’m driving it sometimes not all the time once in a while it just stays warm air coming out. I’ve only had my car fixed by the dealer. Dealer as an hour places solenoids place close at major oil leak that I had, in fact the solenoids were just replaced from the second time about three months ago. I do once in a while still feel that hesitation when I drive we’re just not going into gear smoothly. I think I saw somewhere that it was a common problem with the GM to the Buick‘s oil‘s heating up and then just solidifying and causing this problem. I don’t think I’ll ever get another Buick, this felt like a money pit. I did fix the solenoids myself the first time and that lasted about a year and a half. It was the same exact issue that you were describing Dash which by the way it feels like it’s starting to happen again so there’s something seriously wrong with this line. Oh when this initially started happening a lot of people I saw posted about the same thing the same issue that they were having other than a dealer didn’t seem to think it was a common issue it was the number one issue that I’ve done wrong with this car

Contact a lemon lawyer before you do anything and see if you have options there.

I agree check with Lemon lawyer, have all documents, video, pictures, and move forward. Try to look for a strong exhaust smell as well, also if the car downshifts really hard at 36mph you may be looking at getting a transmission replaced soon. That's what happened to me at 50,000 miles. This car has multiple issues.

My regal shuts off on the highway and the steering wheel locks sometimes. Sick of it

My 11 regal cxl is doing the same thing. Changed the vvt solenoid and got it running smoother but it still turned off while driving. Beyond frustrating it is so damn dangerous. If the car turns off on the highway or while making a turn is my worst nightmare.

I believe so my 2011 is stuck in 1st and won't reverse

I had a 2011 and had to get the transmission replaced, then the replacement failed. It had 90k miles

I have the 2011. Had the transmission replaced and again having difficulty changing gears and picking up speed again also. Buick used to be great cars.

2011 was a very bad year for GM.i own a 2011 cruze and that piece of American wholesome goodness has been a nightmare!!

2011 buick regal 2.4 - ecm box is to the left of your battery box. Hanging vertically.

Had a similar problem with mines they found out it was a wire harness problem

2015 nissan pathfinder hybrid platinum does the same...i reset it the same.. .$10000 new transmission still does it ...and the dealership must of not change the axle seal....so i leak fluid...wasn't leaking when I dropped it off....

That’s not the way to reset, you just bypass the transmission issue!!

You need to replace the tcm (transmission control module)

I got a 2013 buick regal turbo and got the same issue. I just taken down the tcm board and clean the solenoids with mass air flo cleaner and still got the same issue. It's not taken drive.

Don’t know why people are hating on these vehicules. I have a 2015 buick verano 2.0L turbo with 107,000 miles as of now, and still have my OEM transmission. People should just maintain their car like the owner’s manuel tell you. Change your transmission fluid when needed, not after 50-100k miles.

My 2011 Buick regal is opposite, has no first or second gear but gets power in third and beyond smh

My transmission took a shit at 38000 miles rebuild was $3900 should be a recall..

Mine did this and it was because it detected a misfire from a burnt out spark plug
